The next inning Jimenez didn't see an instant challenge from Rays' Jonathan Aranda but the third base umpire Doug Eddings confirmed it happened and allowed it

@TyDaneGonzalez Instead of going behind him and getting a chance at the ball, he tried to run directly at the ump/make his way in front of the ump, which was never gonna happen.

@TyDaneGonzalez The player could have easily went behind the ump (who he knew was standing there) for the ball. He made the dumb choice to run directly at the ump.
