The best we can hope for is that the recent upturn in inflation doesn’t last long enough to meet up the monetary overhang that’s been created from late 2025. Unfortunately, looks likely they’ll catch up. #InflationUganda is up 3.7%/yr this June from 3.2%/yr in May.

National Youth Post Budget Dialogue
Today, we joined fellow young people and key stakeholders in reflecting on how the national budget responds to youth realities.
The dialogue created a valuable space to engage on issues that directly shape young people’s lives, including livelihoods, inclusion and equitable access to resources.
Represented by our staff member, @brenda_kawala, we contributed to the discussion by underscoring the critical link between land and youth empowerment highlighting how secure and equitable access to land remains central to meaningful youth participation in economic development.
As post budget conversations continue, it is clear that youth voices must not only be heard but actively shape how public resources are allocated and prioritised.

Uganda is one of the world’s youngest nations, with 78% of its population under 30 and about 23% aged 18–30. Yet youth unemployment remains a major challenge, with the official rate standing at 13.3% according to UBOS @CSBAGUGANDA#NYBD2026#Youth4Budget#KnowYourBudget26
On 10th June, we joined @NYAP_Uganda for the Breakfast Meeting to orient Law makers on Youth Needs & Climaxed with presentation of the Youth Policy Paper built on the real experiences of young Ugandans for Leaders to act on.

Super proud of all these ladies for taking an intentional journey towards their growth. One thing for sure, if they take this one month program seriously, then they’ll not be the same again 🙌
