i know it’s hard because your intrusive thoughts and social conditioning up until this point have really shaped you to believe that you’re a burden, but you’re not. that voice in your head is not you. if you feel loved around someone it’s because they love you.
the intimacy of becoming familiar with small details: the way eyes light up in response to certain words or actions. memorising coffee orders. recognising the loops of handwriting. hearing a change in tone when discussing a specific topic. knowing if it’s a genuine laugh/smile
being a human is a LOT like what do you mean i have to wash my face, brush my teeth, drink water, socialize, sleep, eat, clean, work, exercise, cut my nails, learn, take care of my mental health, help others, relax sometimes, nurture relationships, save money, shave my legs, and
at some point you just gotta say you’re done entertaining that shit. you’re done putting energy into that. you’re done engaging and letting that shit get to you.
Empathy is a trait/quality I look for in the people I surround myself with. There is nothing worse to me than a person who does not care how they make others feel.
Wild how wearing a simple mask is "living in fear,"—but forcing our kids to wear bulletproof backpacks behind bulletproof doors & bulletproof windows while allowing open carry AR-15s, unlimited ammo, & body gear because the govment's gonna getcha, is perfectly rational "freedom."
