@Sportzcontent20@HebHammer94 I first heard NK on Alt Nation and that's where he kinda fit. When he went mainstream it was like a complete re-release of Stick Season.
p.s. this Xennial has strong opinions about implications re the current state of alt Rock but that's another conversation. Still love NK! π
@Sportzcontent20@HebHammer94 I LOVE TC & RCS, but they're an entirely different genre from NK. More alt/red dirt country / Americana. Different vibe & instruments. You can argue he approaches Americana, but he's more low key instrumental alt Rock that crosses to mainstream.
@RockettLord π for the STEM push for girls but it's still not catching up. Girls are often convinced early on they're not good at or don't like math & science. It's also influenced by the way ADHD presents & is under-diagnosed in girls and women.
π€ seeing more βοΈ role models helps!
@RockettLord It's gotten better but like you said, there's still so much work to do. I'm an engineer and in most meetings it's maybe 10-20% women. Nothing makes men more inherently apt or inclined to engineering. It's what we're (STILL!!) told indirectly from an early age.
@premise75@BulkingtonBooks@memeticsisyphus We just rewatched 30 Rock. It was so over the top tongue and cheek leftist with very obvious jokes about the right. That being said it is very different watching through 2026 eyes. It's still brilliant and hilarious, but lots of cringey jokes that would not fly now.
