@JamesWard From my POV - programming language choice still matters. A single humans ability to create quality code has expanded the set of languages they can target (seeing this in rust, e.g.).

Generally though, the cacophony of low quality output is hiding this fact.

@AmericanAir Your customer service was rather unhelpful. already spent a few hours waiting to and talking with them.

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

Decided to vacation in Australia this Xmas. Had the worst @Qantas and @AmericanAir experience.

The two keep fighting over whose responsibility it is that they lost our baggage. Qantas tells us it's in Brisbane and will ship it and to expect a call

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@AmericanAir @Qantas Lessons learned: use air tags. Read the website terms. @Qantas policy clearly stated they're responsible for bags if they're the last leg of a flight but keep blaming @AmericanAir.

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

24 hr later @AmericanAir says they dropped it at Brisbane and it's @qantas problem. @qantas suddenly doesn't know where the bag is.

@JamesWard It's funny that other installers, e.g. msi, deb have more warnings about untrusted packages and get more scrutiny.

Setting up an installer that verifies what you built is what someone downloads should be tablestakes, but it's hard

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@_JamesWard @jdegoes @winglangio @lambda_conf I'd still like to see Unison and flixlang have a child.

Flixlang seems like Scala w/ effects built in, almost ZIO style.

Unison also seems like a better starting point than Wing. Cc @runarorama

If you put all of these concepts in a natively compiled language...

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@hone02 @_JamesWard Rust buildpack.

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@codefinger @_JamesWard Maybe I'm dumb? I wasn't able to get the packeto one working. Docs around non-built in build packs were hard to follow. Definitely would love to swap what I have for build packs in https://t.co/CRrFn4IchH

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@_JamesWard There is far more power and satisfaction in helping others be successful

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@pchiusano Jokes on you! Yaml is the most used programming language in the world!!!

Honestly though, I wish we could get people to understand "easy to parse" != Good.

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@olafurpg Congratulations!!!

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@_JamesWard Which foundation are you working on now?

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@jboner How big do you see WASM in the future of blurring edge compute and cloud?

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@_JamesWard When folks say tooling they mean "parsing".

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@paul_snively @_JamesWard Funny enough, the abstraction you want is applicative functor, not necessarily monad. It's about dependency.

If we were to rethink things, an affine or linear approach (like dahlia, alms) might be better here

[Josh Suereth @jsuereth]

@pandam0nial @runarorama My latest crypto is llm generated. Was that a bad?
