I know we teach kids that words are just words.
But with adults words come with intention, and can come from *intended* harm, disrespect, dehumanization, and violence. It's why verbal abuse is still abuse.
Saying people shouldn't let words get under their skin also says people can say whatever without fear of repercussion, and that's not how society should even work.
All 5 of USC's losses this season came down to the final possession. That is actually hard to do. I'm not going to pile on at this point, the players and coaches are trying their best and undoubtedly feel worse than anyone. They need to stick together and tune out the noise.
