Since committing to the Catholic Church Exodus 33 has become one of my favorite chapters. Before I try to explain I need to say that things in the New Testament are mirrored in the Old Testament. Nothing happens by coincidence.
In Exodus 33 Moses begs God to see him in his glory. God loves Moses and says he will allow him to see him when God passes by, but that he will cover his face because Moses would die if he sees the face of God.
God places Moses onto the rock and passes before Moses. The reader may overlook something I think is very important to this story, Moses is placed on top of a rock. It may seem like just a random detail in the story but when you look at Matthew 16:18 I believe the story with Moses becomes more clear.
Jesus renames Simon to Peter (Rock), and on this Rock, Jesus will build his Church. Anytime God renames a person in the Bible it is not just for show or effect, that person is anointed and has a very important role in Gods plan. A rock is a object that could be difficult to move, to destroy, it is also good for building upon. This name change is very important for not only Peters new role, but salvation and revelation as a whole.
I believe the message in the parallel between these two events is this, or at least partially this: you can not see the fullness of God in his glory unless you enter into the Church that has been placed upon the Rock. Moses saw God but not all of him, we have the chance to do this in the Church.
Peter was a figure that stabilized the Church up until his death. The foundation he laid continues to be built to this day by the office of the Papacy. Peter held the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and held the power to bind and lose on Earth and in Heaven, this authority has been passed on to his successors and the early Church repeatedly acknowledges this.
Exodus 33 can also tie into the Trinity so let me touch on that briefly.
God repeatedly says to Moses "my goodness or my presence will pass before you", in the NT Jesus states if you have seen him you have seen the Father. "Jesus is an icon of the invisible God"- Collosians 1:15.
Please enter into the Church that Christ established.
Mauricio Ruffy after winning has a message for everyone!
"John 3 :16 says For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus saved my life, he wants to save your life too. Give your life to Jesus"

“Someone might ask: Why would a holy man desire baptism?‟ Listen to the answer: Christ is baptized, not to be made holy by the water, but to make the water holy, and by his cleansing to purify the waters which he touched.”
St. Maximus of Turin,
@JamesDitto12 Dude do you check in on my profile or something? I haven't interacted with you in a while and this post has little attention and yet you come here saying the dumbest crap imaginable like you have previously.
If 1 Timothy 3:15 is true, then the Church must be the pillar of truth in every century….Proving Protestantism FALSE
The question isn’t whether Christ has a Church today.
The question is: where was it in 500, 1000, and 1500 ???? 💧
The tilma of Guadalupe still hasn’t decayed after 500 years.
Its colors can’t be reproduced. And in her eye? A reflection of witnesses, 1/100th of a millimeter.
This is the story of the image that shouldn’t exist:
Protestants in (2026AD) : Infant baptism is demonic, the Apostles never did it.
Origen (248 AD): "The Church received from the apostles the tradition of giving baptism even to infants."
It really seems like people were following two different trials.
The social media trial of sensationalized rumors and public opinion vs the actual facts.
Here are the lies from the social media court:
- He never had a knife. It was a cleat sharpener.
- He got jumped by multiple people.
- It was about race.
- The jury was completely white.
- He’s going to do 35 years.
Here are the facts from the actual case and trial:
- It was a knife (pictured below)
- He was never jumped based on reports from journalists who actually watched the video in court.
- No one testified that racial slurs were thrown around before, during and after the conflict. I was actually surprised that the defense attorney didn’t play the race card. Anthony was simply from the rival school. It was turned into a racial issue based o. The skin color of the two boys involved.
- Though the jury was mostly White, there were Hispanics and Middle Eastern and Indian jurors
- He will be eligible for parole in 17 years.
@vanguard_truth@JtheFree Luke wasn’t an apostles or even an eyewitness
You don’t know anything
His book is scripture only because of the church
Learn man
@vanguard_truth@CatholicDrip___ The 12 apostles? Are their successors created the NT? I'm asking how do you know the books in your Bible are authenticated, inspired words of God? Also the jews didnt settle on a formal canon of their scriptures until after Jesus was crucified so you're wrong about that as well.
If the Bible is the sole infallible authority we need to adhere to, than who authenticated the scriptures? The bible doesn't have a single page in it where it shows a list of inspired vs non-inspired scriptures.
