Israel has a policy called “administrative detention” that allows them to kidnap Palestinians and imprison them for 6 month increments without any charges whatsoever. These holdings can drag out for years.

Over 3,000 Palestinians were being held on administrative detention in Israeli prisons on October 7. That’s why Hamas took all those Israelis back to Gaza. To exchange for their release.

But do you see how that works? When Israel kidnaps people and holds them for months and years on end, they are simply “prisoners on administrative detention.” But when Hamas does it, they are “hostages.”

Led by the mighty @RepThomasMassie, the House just passed War Powers Resolution 215 to 208, to block Trump & the Israel Lobby’s disastrous open-ended war on Iran.

This follows on the heels of the Senate resolution on May 19th, which passed 50-47.

Can/will Trump veto these resolutions? Here’s a breakdown of that:

House Action: The House passed H.Con.Res 86, a concurrent resolution, with a 215-208 vote on June 3. Because it is a ‘concurrent resolution’, it would not go to Trump's desk.

Senate Action: The Senate is considering its own joint resolution - which Trump is then expected to veto if it reaches his desk.

However, any veto by Trump on this could end up being a noose around his neck, politically speaking, and further cement his reputation as a warmongering sociopath.
