Her name is Tasia Fortune.
Tasia was 29 years old. Her body was found hanging from a tree behind a vacant home in Jackson, Mississippi.
We should not rush to conclusions, but we also cannot dismiss the fear and painful history these circumstances evoke for Black communities, especially in Mississippi. That history makes transparency, thoroughness, and truth essential.
I am praying for Tasia’s family and loved ones as they grieve. They deserve answers. Tasia deserves dignity. And there must be a complete and transparent investigation into what happened to her.
Justice requires truth, and truth must be pursued without fear, indifference, or delay.

Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul built a billion-dollar agency from nothing and says discouragement has killed more people than guns
“You gotta have blinders on. I’m telling you and I said this before, discouragement has killed more people than guns, man”
“Every single day somebody tries to discourage you because of the position they’re in. Not the position that you can be in”
“So when people say what you can’t do, that’s just discouragement. I don’t drink that. That’s bottom shelf”
This was 49 years ago… all those racist white kids in the video are 55-75 today. They run the country, run the judicial system, serve as police chiefs, etc. Let that marinate, bro.
"Being black is a creative act. You have to create your world every single day because the world wasn't built for you. That makes us the ultimate architects."- Andre 3000.
