It just takes common sense to understand that Californias elections aren't secure, someone who knows my name, date of birth and address can go vote in person for me, and for those saying oh they verify a signature, how do we know the efficacy of that as voters, there was a time during the Newsome recall when I went to go sign a petition that the people running the recall had to have lines in between the areas of the signature because if it went off the line apparently the state had the legal right to throw it out, this is the problem with out state, and if you are a first time voter, they don't have a signature for them to go off of to verify your vote.
It doesn't lean democrat, Caruso ran and he was up the first few days in the general election, all the ballots came in and he lost, doesn't explain why when he's a democrat too, it's all a broken system that can't be verified properly, there's a lot of ballot harvesting and corruption within the system, that's why no one trusts our voting system.
@baystreet85@SovernNation What's secure about going to a ballot box and them not checking your ID and only asking for your name, date of birth, and address, I'm an independent and have voted in California elections, that's not secure this is public information.
I can understand it may take like a week to count all the votes, but we should know who wins the race within a day or two max if it is really close. In the last LA mayoral race this was an issue where Caruso was up the first 3-4 days of the race and all the mail in ballots came in and he lost, now if it was GOP vs Dem I'd be like ok Dems vote more by mail then republicans do, but this was a Dem vs Dem race, and it doesn't seem right that for example you have a guy who's leading a race and then a bunch of ballots coming in the mail are only favoring one candidate who's endorsed by the same people who's running our elections.
@doggintrump You don't live in California, I'm an independent most agree we need voter ID in the state and a better system than name, date of birth and address, that's public information.
@RpsAgainstTrump I think thereโs a difference between support and if people agree with it politically, Iโd say religiously I donโt agree with it but donโt care what other people
I left temporarily while I can, I live in probably what is known to be one of the worst major cities in the US in Cleveland, and in my opinion if it wasn't for the weather this place would be better than LA, even though its ran by democrats it's still managed much better than the city of LA. It's much more affordable I live here off 3-3.5k a month have a luxury car, luxury high rise apartment, able to go out and eat and spend money, if I wanted to live this way in LA I think it would cost me minimum 10k a month.ย The point is I grew up in a community that doesn't exist anywhere else and I don't want to leave that community it's bigger than politics, so I'm stuck in LA pretty much my whole life.
No I agree with you about that, I went to UCLA I've never met so many dumb, incompetent people in my life. I was told because I am Jewish and went to Israel I deserve to d*e from other students on my campus from far left progressives. In reality they call themselves progressive but there's nothing progressive about their policies or ideals. I'm an independent I don't vote based off party. If Caruso ran today against Bass he would easily win, he only lost by less than 10 points in 2022 but if that were to happen today I easily think he wins by a lot more.
@eddisonrain@PopularLiberal it will never end, people are so upsest with party and their wack beliefs they know they can't defend their positions but they still vote for them.
@MattWhitlock And the fact she's endorsed by the governor, that's all she really got, people are only voting for her because of her party and race and that's about it.
@45LakeTahoe47@mercedesschlapp Arnold was still much better than any of them, you could still buy a home in California, still had good schools, no major homeless issue, and the state was funded decently fairly
@nettermike If Hilton got all of Bianco's votes he would've potentially had a chance to close out the election today but it probably still wouldn't have been enough
@GioChavezCA and hopefully we'll have the first Latino president Marco Rubio! Oh wait you guys only care when it's within your own party, you don't actually care about race.
It is absurd, there's no reason it should take this long to verify the results of an election, this is the only place in country it takes this long, everyone within the office of the secretary of state within California and those who run the elections in Los Angeles should resign, you cannot with a straight face think this is ok, imagine if republicans did this, I would be irate idc about party like you all do.
