@capitalweather I know the radar isn’t picking it up but I just passed through a snow/sleet/rain shower on St. Barnabas Rd. in Temple Hills about 20 min ago. I guess this is a good indicator of how cold things are just above us.
@FredGwynn7@capitalweather Yup. I’ve always wondered why the levies were so high compared to the daily size of the creeks, even though I knew the history of Port Towns flooding from school. Now I got to see why in real time.
The Anacostia was overtopping the boat dock and at the Bladensburg Waterfront’s edge around sunset after today’s flash flood upstream in Silver Spring and Takoma Park. Vids 2 & 3 are 1/2 mile upstream at the Northeast Branch and Northwest Branch. @capitalweather
@SteelPivk@DameKimK@GovWesMoore We don’t have beer or wine in grocery stores in PG. It’s one of the reasons we’ve lost so many grocery stores in the last 20 years. Only MoCo has the exceptions to the rule.
@DaveWade35 @GovWesMoore And in areas that have become food deserts, the argument from grocers is cost to run stores. This will stop that. And competition for small liquor sales might drive out the over saturation of liquor stores.
On this day in 1989 - Montgomery County approved $107 million to build a trolley and a parallel bike trail on part of the county's portion of the Georgetown Branch between Bethesda and Silver Spring.
People who say this election could be the "end of democracy" are so extra...
Or maybe they know the TRUE history of the election-denying white supremacist who led a violent insurrection, overturned a presidential election and ended democracy in America.
