@NickHorob Have you tried any self hosted LLMs to see if they can produce similar results? I guess you’re building self hosted tools so you’re not sharing business data with 3rd parties beyond your intentions to create software
@NickHorob Eventually asked grok if doing everything in digitalocean would be easier. “Yes absolutely. Not only would it be easier. It’ll be cheaper too!” Then why didn’t you say that a long time ago?!?!? Because I never asked. I only asked how to do it in aws
@NickHorob I was using grok on a slack to s3 export to chat with an ai agent about work topics and eventually get the agent to pull tidbits out of casual conversation to add to technical documents. I couldn’t tell if I was making progress or regressing at times
@NickHorob Know when to ask ai chat for a different approach.
Trade offs like cost are easily hidden when the chat is confident and agreeable.
Look out for risks like disclosing sensitive business information to 3rd parties.
You become solely responsible for things like backups and uptime.
@NickHorob That’s a cool example. Looks like the product is the course, right? Will there be follow up products like example projects or are you building a community for sharing example projects?
@NickHorob Buying domains for ideas is very gratifying… I need to turn my hoarding activity into action but that’s when my brain jumps to the next thing
@NickHorob Sounds like a deal for that, especially on land with sentimental value. Are you getting it framed? I enjoy seeing guys post their as-applied or yield data in really unique field boundaries… not the case here but still cool to see. Thanks for sharing!
If you need a unique gift idea for the farmer in your life, I’ll make a framed piece of art from as-applied or harvest data. They probably “have everything” but I guarantee they won’t have one of these! I can turn any spatial data into a gift they’ll cherish.
@MaxROIFarmer hey Matt. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge on so many topics. If you want to send me a shapefile of a field, I’ll make a framed picture for you. The more interesting the field shape, the better!
