@truth_john_14_6@michaeljknowles Except he did. During his September visit to France, the Pope publicly addressed abortion and euthanasia in Paris and Lourdes, defending the right to life and condemning assisted dying. As he did in Magnifica Humanitas, the right to life from conception to its natural end.
@truth_john_14_6@michaeljknowles Catholics believe in Church teachings against abortion, IVF, same-sex unions, contraception, euthanasia, divorce, drug legalization, theological Zionism & capital punishment. For responsible migration (CCC 2241). The Church isn’t for a particular party in your 250 yr old nation.
Friends, one of the marks of the natural religious attitude is that the seekers are always in control of the conversation: They set out to find ultimate meaning on their own terms.
But a revealed religion, like Christianity, holds that God has spoken. Our quest is real and it can be holy, but what finally matters is that God has answered it on his terms.
@austeni@BishopBarron Universalism is heresy. Bishop Barron is correct. Looks like this is one of the ones at “close to the top” that Fr. Chad Ripperger was talking about on Shawn Ryan podcast.
@NiwaLimbu1988 Are these “Not at the very, very top, but close to the very, very top.” that Father Ripperger was talking about with @ShawnRyan762? Vesco, Cupich and alikes?
@Yochanan_2026@CarriePrejean1 I won’t continue engaging in an issue the Church settled nearly two millennia ago. Repent, convert, and believe in the Gospel. Christ is King. ✝️
@glittercrox@CarriePrejean1 Before Abraham was, I AM. - Jn 8:58
I and the Father are one. - Jn 10:30
He who has seen me has seen the Father. - Jn 14:9
Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God. - Jn 20:28
Ave Christus Rex ✠
@JackPosobiec I respect Pius XII, but as a Catholic I follow the Church's current teaching. The Catechism acknowledges the previous judgment on capital punishment while developing the doctrine in light of human dignity, the nature of punishment, and current means of protecting society.
