Nobody died for your fucking sins. Jesus died because he was considered a threat by corrupt religious leaders. Because he actually gave a shit about the people they exploited and abandoned and spoke up about the issues the public faced. He was mislabelled a terrorist and killed.
Being neurodivergent means you’ve said “I told you this would happen” more times than you can count. Not to be right. Just because you genuinely couldn’t understand why no one else saw it.
THE AUTISTIC EXPERIENCE IS ASKING A COMPLETELY REASONABLE CLARIFYING QUESTION AND WATCHING THE WHOLE ROOM ACT LIKE YOU JUST SAID SOMETHING INAPPROPRIATE.
So let me get this straight, pro life only applies to saving babies from abortion bc of the “sanctity of life” only to deny most of them the sustence to live?
Dear disabled people,
Your existence is worth so much. Yes, even if you don’t work. Even if you can’t do chores. Even if you can’t go out. Even if you can’t do people favors. You are not the equivalency of what you can do. You are so much more.
EXPLAINING YOURSELF:
What neurodivergent people say: "I am explaining what caused this so you can understand what happened, and also as a means of showing I had no malicious intent"
What neurotypical people hear: "LOL I know what I did and am using my disability as an excuse"
Unemployed disabled people are not having fun at home. We are miserable. Get rid of the belief that we’re comfortable and enjoying it. We’re in pain, we’re sick, we’re sad, we’re bored, we’re stressed, and we’re lonely. We’re still suffering even though we aren’t working a 9-5.
Autistic burnout isn’t just tiredness.
It’s years of masking, unmet needs, and swallowing pain.
It’s vanishing into a performance so long you forget yourself.
It’s yelling into the void.
It’s not weakness.
It’s your whole system saying - “I can’t keep surviving like this” and I need support.
And I am also convinced that the vast majority of autistic people who use substances to cope are doing so because of distinct anxiety (that most of them probably don't know they have).

To explain this a bit more...
The anxiety I was dealing with was the result of my autistic needs not being met (aka, distinct anxiety... sensory anxiety is one example of distinct anxiety).
And I was ABSOLUTELY using alcohol to cope with my distinct anxiety. (5)
seeing the neurologist whose actions nearly led to my death last month and I’ve decided I’m not even going to wait to speak. that man is going to enter the room and I am going to say everything I couldn’t say when I couldn’t breathe
Me: (sitting at a social event or family gathering where nobody is paying attention to me despite my attempts to talk)
Me: *pulls phone out or puts headphones on*
Everyone: OMG you're being so rude! Put that away, people want to talk to you!
The second you aren’t happy and “embracing” your disability, abled people no longer like you. They want someone that they can use as inspiration and someone that isn’t bitter. They lose respect when you’re actually sad about being disabled. We deserve compassion regardless.
