Need an up-to-date #TreeofLife for teaching/conferences/wall paper? Talented PhD student @BasileBeaud drew a schematic consensus ToL from the most recently published phylogenies. Hope this is useful! Downloadable version in the thread👇
Are you a grad student, postdoc, or faculty interested in manipulating microbes for basic research or biotech applications, check out the CSHL summer course in Advanced Bacterial Genetics. I took this course as a graduate student and it was a life-changing experience.
@ChabaRachna@IiserMohali@DBS_IISERM Thank you for hosting me. I am extremely impressed with the QA session-many great questions and enthusiasm from your dynamic community.
A “power lunch” at @IiserMohali discovering female faculty in different countries facing so many common challenges. Many thanks to Prof. Gowrishankar and especially Rachna Chaba for arranging a grand finale of my trip to India!
The timeless Taj Mahal! Many thanks to @nuhakhan10 @Deepak99538084 @AamirFa61267432, students from Mohan Joshi’s lab for taking me to historical sites and learn about the Mughal emperors. Fascinating, joyful and proudly humbling.
Left #BMSV in Goa, India with warmth and inspiration. An exciting, diverse and friendly meeting of creative minds. Thank you @dnarepairlab for the hard work organizing it!
The Wang lab is excited to collaborate with @TheNelsonLab in the five group consortium. We look for motivated postdoc and research assistant candidates. Microbiology background will fit best but a strong training record in biochemistry or genomics also welcome. Email or DM me!
Applicants must be ready to work as part of a large team (5 research groups) with coworkers in chemistry, biology and biophysics. Please send your cv my way via DM or email if you are interested. Salaries will be competitive!-hmn
Happy to share our work on a small alarmone hydrolase in the plant pathogen Xanthomonas. Just like its eukaryotic homolog Mesh1, Sah can hydrolyze (pp)pGpp, ppApp, and convert NADPH to NADH. Kudos to Dr Danny Fung, who has two first author publications out on the same day!
We are hoping to hire a few postdocs due to some new and exciting funding in the lab. We are looking for 1) structural biologists with demonstrated expertise in CryoEM or X-ray crystallography and 2) synthetic chemists with expertise in library synthesis or HT chemistry.
