A quiet reading community. 📚 Meet us at Kaifi Azmi Park every Saturday, 5pm to 7pm, with a mat, some fruits & a book. To just read! Find us near the Gulmohars
Readers who delve deeply into books often awaken a well of imagination within them. A spark that flows from the written word to the canvas, diyas in this case! A photo from our silent reading circle yesterday. While some of us read most of us painted.
I started @cubbonreads with my friend, Harsh, which has seen up to 600+ readers for silent book reading in a public park, free of cost. It is onto its 133rd weekly edition, with no sessions missed ever & is the precursor of all the {city}reads chapters globally (120 chapters).

Sorry for taking long. A lot of our curators were recovering from the trauma they faced the day before, and we wanted to give them space.
If you were present at the venue, you can help attest to the experience. Thank you.
Adding a touch of festive joy to our silent reading session. Bring a wrapped gift that’s affordable & thoughtful. Pre-loved, pre-owned books in good condition are welcome, as are journals, bookmarks, chocolates, or anything that’s brought you joy. Keep it simple & budget-friendly
We received a heartwarming message all the way from Bangladesh.
When we asked where could we find the Instagram handle of Bangladesh Reads, we were told that most of Bangladesh is active on Facebook, not Insta, and the community is thriving there, spreading beyond just Dhaka. 🤩
To celebrate Juhu Reads' first anniversary, we are donating pre-loved books (Marathi, Hindi and English) to Hind Vachanalay, a community library in rural Satara, Maharashtra. Our endeavor finds a special mention in today's Mid-Day: Tuesday Dossier. https://t.co/ObTPdSb2PA
We complete one whole year on 1st May this year 🥳 To celebrate, we are organising a BOOK SALE on Saturday, 4th May. All the proceeds from the sale will go to Bansa Community Library. We hope to raise at least Rs. 25,000 via sales/contributions. Will you help us achieve our goal?
Our 29th edition was our first indoor session, thanks to the lovely folx at @kunzum. Delhi's non-reassuring AQI levels were behind us going indoors, but our community reassured us by showing up, and adapting with us!
A month ago, I wrote a debut essay for @VOGUEIndia on the 'Reads' movement that emerged this year, reflecting on what it means for the conversation on public space in India and reclaiming it. It's finally here, with beautiful photos by @pavlikam

Sikkim has adopted the concept of Reads in all its schools, thanks to the singular efforts of Yoga Dolma, the IAS officer and the DC of Gyalshing district, who visited us in Bengaluru after learning about @cubbonreads.
So much power government officials have to effect change! 😍
