🐾5-y/o Odin at ACC b/c resident kid fell on him while he was sleeping; startled, Odin bit - made a mark so now he is in trouble. Owner states Odin has never bit b/f. Now that ACC knows what actually happened, they could remove the "unprovoked bite" in his listing... still at the top of his bio notes 🙄 Kid fell, startled him & he responded & has no prior bite, ever. Freedom for two of our dogs.

First off, Louie Du Lac. This is a three year old stray Frenchie that was found in with really bad skin issues. Someone thought it would be a good idea just to let him go instead of getting veterinary care.

Secondly we have Edward. Edward went to the NYCACC under really sad circumstances. His owner died and left three dogs, Edward being one of them. Since Edward was guarding his now deceased owner, the police darted him so everyone was safe.

His life was in danger and we're so happy we were able to save him.

We do not know the status of the other dogs and there was no mention that they were bonded.

It breaks our hearts to see some of our most deserving dogs continue to wait.

At all of our sites, senior dogs are waiting longer and longer to find their forever families. And sadly, none of our large senior pups at our Philadelphia headquarters found a home last weekend.

But here’s what we wish more people knew - senior dogs are amazing. We already know their personalities, their favorite things, their routines, and oftentimes how they’ll be in a home.

They may have a little more gray, a little less energy, and more years behind them, but that just means they have so much love to give.

Their best years don’t have to be behind them. They just need someone to give them a chance.
