@krismicinski How it will probably go is they will stop awarding them once it gets more effective to develop LLM prompting strategies and throwing a lot of money at the problem.

🇪🇺 Chat Control has passed 😔
They can and will now legally scan any person's messages, emails and photos you send without a warrant
The way they passed this law when the majority of the European Parliament was against it will shock you:
They waited until most EP members were on holiday so only a few were present and then created an "urgent" vote for it to pass it through
There's nothing democratic about any of it and big powerful forces are behind this that can manipulate the EU for whatever they want
Democracy in Europe died a bit today 😔
@TrevMcKendrick@Noahpinion Because US Social Security is not wealth, it's a promise that the next generation will pay your pension. That is not wealth; it still has to be worked for. Pension systems where you have an actual account holding stocks, bonds, or cash are counted because that is wealth.
@samth@jer_gib@mattyglesias Migration is presumably driven by the difference between US salaries and EU salaries, not by the difference between professors and software engineers? Professor salaries in the US are about 3x EU I think
@RATking242@jmrphy In terms of being able to start new ventures or direct charities, yes. In terms of personal consumption value, not really. 80M brings in 5M/yr invested in the S&P500, and the marginal consumption utility above that is not very high.
Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei loves Europe and built a collection of European “towns” for their corporate campus which are connected by a tram imported from Switzerland ✨🇨🇳
@npparikh Probably depends on your taste. If you walk into a random pizzeria in italy you can probably find a nice pizza with anchovies and capers, but in NYC you have to hunt.
@ShriramKMurthi Immigration lines are insane because usually a few extra guards would dissipate the lines and if every person in the room paid $1 it could cover their salary many times over
@ngernest2@alpha_convert (This is in the small bakery called Lord Stow's inside the hotel. They bake fresh tarts at 12pm. The Mandarin is right next to the JS office)
