This is an incredible White washing of social studies curriculum and is harmful to the truths of slavery in the U.S. which is the foundational in the racial inequities present in the U.S. today. It is despicable. TX board of education should be ashamed of their decisions.
Public schools in Texas would describe slavery to second graders as "involuntary relocation" under new social studies standards proposed to the state’s education board. https://t.co/4S0guQsv6h
Ketanji Brown Jackson made history Thursday, becoming the first Black woman to join the U.S. Supreme Court. Jackson was sworn in during a ceremony at the court, just minutes after Justice Stephen G. Breyer made his retirement official. https://t.co/glNgw6IxTA
We took a look at the current state of abortion in the U.S. Most abortions occur in the first trimester. Though some women have more than one abortion in their lifetime, the typical abortion patient has never had one before. https://t.co/usvFnC8Cpm
My favorite part of PMENA is the provocation plenary. Every year I am inspired and motivated by the presenters ideas and their bravery is saying and disrupting what so many of us may have thought about at one point but have normalized. Let's bring changes into reality. #PMENA43
@fostermathed@MandyMathEd 🤣🤣🤣 For. Real. Do they even know what Boomer means? Also, are they aware they stole that saying from OUR generation?? But that was a great time in St. Louis!

BREAKING: Mayor Kelly Girtz announced tonight that the Confederate Memorial in Downtown Athens will be removed. We will post more information as it emerges, but we felt our passionate historic community deserved to hear this news first.
When people take to the streets and organize socially and politically, things change. Across the nation, people have given voice to the pain and damage that police brutality has caused. It is time for America to listen. #InDefenseOfBlackLife#BlackLivesMatter
If you’re unbothered or mildly bothered by the 1st knee, but outraged by the 2nd, then, in my father’s words, you’re “more devoted to order than to justice.” And more passionate about an anthem that supposedly symbolizes freedom than you are about a Black man’s freedom to live.
@bolanlemath Yes! Absolutely. And in addition to sharing info like how to slow the growth and why we need to social distance! Great discuss for exponential to logistic relationships!
High school math teachers: What do you notice? What do you wonder?
Did some data collection and analysis based on GA records. Is using covid-19 a current event that is math worthy? Or cause of fear? #NoticeWonder
One concern among mathematics educators right now is field placements for their students. How are institutions navigating this so far? What are you seeing and what would you like to see? Please share. Use the hashtag #MTEchat
