Lux Pascal opens up about her brother Pedro’s reaction to her coming out as a transgender woman: “Pedro is an important part of this. He was the first person to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity. [When I came out to him, he said] ‘Perfect, this is incredible!’”
@moon__axel Horrible people aren't going to pull punches when they use slurs. They'll use them toward many. I've been called a f*g and I've never said that word aloud. Why? It's not mine. Doesn't reflect my history. Getting a slur hurled at you doesn't mean you get to use it as ammunition.
@moon__axel 'Im sorry, but' you should have stopped there. White folks within this community cannot try to claim things that aren't ours. We do enough of that already. Being marginalized in one way doesn't give you a pass.
@moon__axel I'm white, I've been called that too. Doesn't mean it's a word I'm going to use. Read the room. Slurs aren't just reclaiming something you personally have been called. There's historical context & a group of marginalized people who created it, were harmed by it, & reclaimed it
i really do not have trauma from physical abandonment. i have trauma from emotional abandonment and neglect. engaging with physically present bodies that lacked emotional capacity to feel me was like crying to a wall and begging it to talk back.
I am so disappointed in Phoebe. There are millions of hungry kids out there who would have loved to eat that guitar. And now no one can eat it. I can’t stop crying.
