Appreciate I’ve tweeted a lot about Ofsted, I know I’ve been like a dog with a bone in speaking up & some people probably think I’m a bit obsessed & should give it a break. But, I’m only saying what so many people think but many don’t yet feel confident to enough to voice publicly. I (weirdly) now have a platform & feel obliged to use it - it's the right thing to do & safe to say that I won't be stopping any time soon.

I've had enough of the stress it causes me & my colleagues, the inherent unfairness of the system, the unpredictability of inspections and what it does to people I care about.

I want to give Martyn Oliver the benefit of the doubt, I really do, same goes for our unions. I understand that a lot rests with Gillian Keegan/DfE, that it's early days & positive noises are being made. But, nothing has changed, not really, & all inspections should be paused until we see fundamental changes.

The Post Office scandal may have infuriated us all, but it has also shown the importance of standing up, speaking out & sticking together. We all know what needs to happen, please use your voice & keep going before more good people leave the vocation they signed up for & even more damage is done.

It appears as if Ofsted made the decision to pause inspections in mid-December but deliberately chose not to tell headteachers and school staff until the new chief inspector started in January. It feels like it's just a game to them.
