You’ve already investigated and seen what is happening. Now stop at statements. Move to real action. Publicly impose travel bans and asset freezes on the specific public figures and officials responsible for cracking down on dissent and attacking journalists and media freedom. That is the kind of pressure that actually hurts them.
Yes, NMG is open again, but people are still abducted and locked up just for reporting or speaking out. Those rights must be respected, full stop.
You’ve done your part by speaking. Now the rest is also on us as Ugandans. We have to keep demanding, keep speaking, and refuse to be silent. If enough of us speak up at the same time and become the media ourselves, the government will have no choice but to respect the people’s voice.
