The purpose of productivity books/podcasts is to quell the guilt of being unproductive in the past with the dream of being productive in the future, productivity itself doesn't enter the equation, because the answer would be to start by closing the book/turning off the podcast
@ShangguanJiewen “AI can make purchases for you” is such a weak use case. The fact that it’s promoted by major ai companies tells me the use cases are plateauing amongst the masses (i.e. I’m sure expert use of ai will still create amazing things for years to come.)
@BecauseCulture@cabify Mexico too now — and it beats Tesla in pretty much every metric. I think “awareness of BYD existence” will be a reliable test for years to come for how truly connected global information is.
LEGO is about to sell the only finished Sagrada Família in existence. The real one broke ground in 1882, topped out just this February, and still won't be fully done until 2034. The $799.99 plastic version ships complete on November 1.
At 12,060 pieces it's the largest set LEGO has ever made, beating the World Map's record by 365 pieces.
The design decision that makes it brilliant is the build order. You don't assemble it like a model, you assemble it like the actual construction crew did. Apse and crypt first, the way ground broke in 1882. Then the Nativity facade, the only section Gaudí lived to see finished. Then the Passion facade, the naves, the towers. You end on the Glory facade, which in Barcelona is still surrounded by scaffolding.
So the instruction manual is a 144-year timeline, and a week of building compresses it.
Gaudí knew he'd never see the end. When people asked how he could work 43 years on something he'd die before finishing, he said "my client is in no hurry." He meant God. He got hit by a tram in 1926, and LEGO timed this release to the 100th anniversary of his death, the same year the real tower finally made it the tallest church on earth at 172.5 meters.
Somewhere Gaudí is watching people finish his building in seven days and shrugging. The client was never in a hurry anyway.
