There's a verse where God says "O that."
"O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!" Deut 5:29
Read that again. The God who spoke the universe into being is standing at Sinai saying I wish. Not I will install. Not I have decreed. O that there were such an heart in them.
He could have made the heart. He didn't. He wanted it from them. And look what he wanted it for: "that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever."
That's what he wants for you this morning. Not a performance. A heart. And he's still saying O that.
@grantedbygrace@Soteriology101 Thank you brother though I'd phrase my side differently: I don't believe man supplies something God lacks. God supplies the grace, drawing, conviction, revelation and enabling; faith is the sinner's response to that grace, not a meritorious contribution.
Grace and Peace
@grantedbygrace@Soteriology101 Again, thank you brother. I totally understand your position but I find it extra-biblical having been in Reformed circles for quite many years before leaving.
God bless you as you continue to submit to his will.
@grantedbygrace@Soteriology101 5/5 Scripture says some “rejected the purpose of God for themselves” (Luke 7:30), while others “judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life” by rejecting His word (Acts 13:46). Jesus draws all (Jn 12:32), His Spirit convicts (Jn 16:8), yet His grace can be resisted (Acts 7:51).
Apple says you need a Mac to build iPhone apps.
Today I built one on Omarchy Linux, submitted it to the App Store, installed it on my iPhone over USB, and stopped it at a breakpoint in the debugger.
No Mac anywhere.
It's all open source:

@grantedbygrace@Soteriology101 3/3 That's why I don't see 1 Cor 4:7 as creating the dilemma. Everything needed for salvation is received from God. The question is whether Scripture says God gives that grace only to those He first regenerates. Phil 1:29 doesn't say that, and neither does Acts 13:48.
Thank you
@grantedbygrace@Soteriology101 2/3 Think of the distinction between provision and reception. God graciously initiates, calls, draws and enables; the person believes, and that faith is counted as receiving rather than earning. So the believer has nothing to boast in, yet faith is a condition of receiving life
