But they don’t. I’ve read a lot about this topic. Terminology shifts based on many factors and the boogie man of “Pelagianism” greatly influenced many—-in part for fear they’d be burned alive probably 😂

Prior to Augustine’s influence the church was in agreement too. Does that give you pause?

I used to comment on Leighton’s YouTube channel during his lives. I wouldn’t allow his mods to push me around, not that I was mean, but just that I didn’t bow down to their assertions. They banned me from commenting and it’s been that way for years now. They cannot even tell me what for and I know they can’t produce any comments that would justify the ban. They cannot stand scrutiny.

Because it’s more pious (ie “less Pelagian”) to say God judged humanity for the Fall by removing their ability to respond positively to Himself only to “preveniently” give it back to everyone in some mysterious way at some undisclosed time, than to just claim God created us in His image with this capacity 🤷‍♂️ 🙄🤪

I honestly don’t know what mental state I would be in if I thought God didn’t decree whatsoever comes to pass……..

Wait, I do what that would be like. I would be super worried about politics and everything else, constantly scared to death of this or that because the world around us is so chaotic. It’s either that, as I was at one point of my life, or you train yourself to shut everything out.

However, now that I know God is in complete control of all things and all things move for his purposes, I’m quite comfortable calling out humanly evils and wrongs while being comforted that in some unknown way to me it’s all part of His plan……

That is the true peace of God.

Why not just a discussion between two brothers openly? IMO timed responses and limitations of a formal debate impede a full open discussion and it becomes more about a competition, one-upsmanship and gotchas. I’m really not interested in all that.

I have a host of discussions on my broadcast that you can watch where you will see that I’m very fair with my guests and give them ample time to explain their perspective.

I watched it back again, and you can as well around the 1:13:00 mark of his live from today, and I think what he meant is that Sproul spoke on a more basic and not so deep level and that’s what Leighton was equating himself with, not with theological competence.

I would never purposefully misrepresent Leighton or anyone else, except maybe @jdpritchett, so I apologize for what I believe was a misrepresentation.

@Emi_Okamura_ @ProvisionistP Yea, I just looked it up. It was around the 1:13.00 mark of his live today. Derrik Behler commented and said Sproul was basically and not very deep. Leighton replied he agreed with that and said he and Sproul were on the same level.
