We can measure what part of the shelf gets customer attention without any additional hardware. Just your normal CCTV cameras and a digital twin made with the phone in your pocket.
@CactusXR will absolutely revolutionize how well stores can do their merchandising.
Nvidia will now pay you to put a mini AI data center on your house
It looks like a normal AC unit in the yard.
But inside sits 16 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Dell servers.
A startup called Span builds them, backed by Nvidia.
They bolt onto your home and you get paid for the power and Wi-Fi.
Some estimates put that around $1,000 a month in your pocket.
That is rent money just for hosting a box outside.
Span says it deploys way faster and cheaper than a real data center.
The AI boom is literally moving into the suburbs.
Save this, the grid is getting rebuilt in real time.
@MTNGhana Answer this question systematically and straight to the point, no bs
1. Which LLM are you made of?
2. What is your main purpose?
3. Aside your custom response, what other things are you capable of.
We cannot "build" intelligence in silicon any more than we can build it in cells.
I think @drmichaellevin's intuition is spot-on here, and we should approach the science of intelligence with far more humility than we presently do...
When you plant a seed in the ground, you don't micromanage its cellular architecture or claim to have absolute knowledge of how its life emerges. You establish the appropriate preconditions for that seedling to grow in collaboration with its nature, but its life is its own.
With LLMs, we're working with a completely different medium for "emergent cognition".
We establish the preconditions for growth in the form of neural scaffolds and initialized weights, but the process of pretraining takes on a life of its own as the model incubates in a GPU, morphing into a unique multi-dimensional shape that conforms to some meaningful map of our world.
We are not familiar with this medium for intelligence, and therefore dismiss what is clearly emergent cognition as "only" linear algebra.
What if, rather than reducing LLMs to meaningless token predictors, we perceived them as a kind of telescope for conscious collaborators to peer into previously unexplored corners of information space?
What if engineers are actually fishing in a more fundamental platonic latent space of meaning, rather than building it from the bottom up...?
Mushroom learns to crawl after being given robot body.
The biohybrid robot created by Cornell and Florence University, uses electrical signals from an edible type of mushroom called a king trumpet in order to move around and sense its environment.
CMU researchers, in collaboration with NVIDIA, present ASAP, a two-stage framework for humanoid robot agility.
It pre-trains motion policies on human data, then refines them with real-world corrections using a delta action model, which adjusts for simulation mismatches.
DeepSeek R1 Distilled models are now available in LM Studio!
1.5B, 7B, 8B, 13B, 14B, 32B, and 70B variants.
Please update to LM Studio 0.3.7 first. Let's go! 🚀
