Everyone's posting about the @LEVIS logo cover-up, but the best marketing stunt of this World Cup came from a ketchup bottle.
@heinz_ca isn't a World Cup sponsor, so under FIFA's "clean stadium" rule its bottles inside the venues got taped over in black.
What made this work is the timing. Photos of the taped bottles went viral. Heinz was joking about it on social and had ads running the same weekend. And the retail bottle, "Unofficial Stadium Ketchup," hit shelves while the meme was still alive. Even with black tape over the name, you know it's Heinz from across the room.
Most brands would still be brainstorming concepts or waiting on legal approval at that point.
I doubt Heinz has more creative people or budget than the official sponsors. What they clearly have is a much shorter path from "this is relevant right now" to an approved asset in market. In most large marketing orgs that path takes weeks, and by then the moment is gone.
And it wasn't a one-off. Non-sponsors are at 57,000 social mentions this tournament, while official sponsors, who paid millions for the badge, sit at only 43,000.
The brands winning the next tournament won't be the ones with the biggest budgets. They'll be the ones with a system that lets them ship the moment momentum is on their side.
My Uber driver today: "I hate Waymos."
Two minutes later he gushes about the days when angry cab drivers threw tomatoes at his Uber, too slow to see the disruption coming. "That was the best time."
We all love disruption. Right up until it comes for us.

AI is on every enterprise agenda.
But “replace the team with agents” isn’t the move.
AI adoption is more like autonomous driving:
L1 assist (humans drive)
L2 supervised autopilot
L3 conditional autonomy
L4 full autonomy
Everyone starts at L1.
Winners adopt AI smart, not fast.

Most performance teams blame ads.
But more often than not, the real issue is the landing page.
3 leaks worth checking:
1) The offer isn’t clear. Visitors shouldn’t have to scroll to understand what you do.
2) Friction: too many steps before someone can sign up or get started. Every extra click is a drop-off point.
3) Important elements show up in the wrong place: social proof (testimonials, logos, case studies) don’t show up where they should.
It’s worth auditing these before scaling spend.
At Uplane, we solve this by generating hundreds of conversion-optimized landing pages, each tailored to the person seeing the ad. Same budget, better results.
Text me and I’ll give you a free assessment of your landing page.

🧠 Most brands run their ads with 2019 processes.
Here's what I still see everywhere:
-> 3-5 ad variations per campaign
-> Same landing page for every ad
-> A/B testing a few times per month
-> Results reviewed monthly The math is simple: More iterations = faster to what works = better ROAS.
This is what a typical daily creative output looks like for one of our customers.
20x the output of a traditional agency.
Result: +42% ROAS in 6 weeks.
