Something I’m doing is I bought a Dawn dish soap and a generic Walmart one. They are almost exactly the same size. I wrote the dates on them when I started using them. They can say whatever they want about how many loads they will wash but I sometimes you end up using more of the cheaper stuff so it doesn’t pay out in the end. I think it helps to do stuff like this to see if it’s worth paying more.

$149.27 for our weekly grocery trip, all from Walmart because we didn’t get out of the house quickly enough to catch the other stores. 2 adults and 2 older children. (1 preteen and 1 teen)
We go shopping weekly on Wednesdays usually.
Disclaimers:
1) We don’t eat meat
2) We raise our own eggs.
3) We had fairly heavy leftover staples from last week’s trip, so this is primarily a trip to fill in gaps. I check the cupboards and clean out the fridge first before buying more food.
4) I’m making a couple of recipes that require certain ingredients that cost more, however a number of those ingredients can be reused for future weeks and batches.
This hurt today the increase they put on everything April first here in Canada is brutal our grocery bill was at least $100 more than it usually is and we didn’t even buy things priced this high because well who can! It’s getting unaffordable to grocery shop what are the rest of you doing to deal with these increases?
