@Vitz11111@NBirenSingh Yes, absolutely! But first, who were those “brave goons” who thought lighting a rubber tyre on an iron gate was an act of heroism?
This report by @republic documented the functioning of detention centres established in Manipur for housing illegal immigrants apprehended in the State. In 2022 alone, 80 Myanmar nationals who were found staying illegally in Churachandpur were apprehended. Detention facilities had already been put in place as part of a systematic process to deal with such cases.
Had there been consistent political backing for the detection and deportation drive, 60-70% of the work could have been achieved by now. Instead, political instability disrupted the process. Ironically, even the existence and purpose of the detention centres themselves were subsequently questioned.
The report also brings out important details regarding the scale of the exercise and its coordination with the concerned authorities, including the Union Home Ministry.
Some alarming figures in this context include:
• 6,517 illegal immigrants detected in Kamjong in December 2025.
• 1,884 detected in Moreh Sub-Division in December 2025.
• 1,845 detected in Tengnoupal in December 2025.
• In early 2023, a verification exercise undertaken under the Cabinet Sub-Committee across five hill districts identified 2,480 Myanmar nationals. The exercise covered Tengnoupal, Chandel, Churachandpur, Pherzawl and Kamjong.
I appreciate the National Investigation Agency for the recent arrests in connection with the ambush on my convoy on 10 June 2024, including the arrest of the UKNA chief in Aizawl, who is also accused in the attack.
It is deeply disturbing that those accused in this case, as well as individuals linked to other brutal attacks, including the Tronglaobi attack, are cadres of the UKNA, a non-SoO group. This raises a serious question. Were they acting only for their own interests, or was there a larger network with political interests working to destabilise Manipur and undermine the then elected government?
The recent arrests have brought important links to light. These must now be investigated thoroughly. The people of Manipur deserve to know whether there was a wider network behind the violence and instability that began on 3 May 2023. Every link must be investigated. Every conspiracy must be exposed. Every person responsible must face the law.
Heartiest congratulations to our Indian Men’s Sepaktakraw Quadrant team on securing the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026 in Nagoya, Japan.
Despite a hard-fought loss in the semifinal, our team’s unbeaten run in the group stage, including a memorable victory over World Cup champions Myanmar, has brought home India’s third-ever Asian Games medal in the sport & the first in this edition.
This achievement is a true testament to their dedication, fighting spirit, resilience and unyielding determination. You have made the entire nation proud. I wish the team greater success ahead.
It is heartening to see Heikru Hidongba, one of Manipur’s most cherished traditions, continue to thrive with the same spirit and reverence even today.
Tracing its roots to the reign of Maharaja Irengba in 984 AD, and later formalised as an annual observance by Maharaja Bhagyachandra in 1779, the festival remains a proud symbol of our cultural and spiritual heritage.
Celebrated at the historic moat of Bijoy Govinda, Sagolband, Heikru Hidongba brings together prayer, tradition and the iconic boat race, with wishes for peace, prosperity and the collective well-being of our people.
Happy to witness this sacred celebration today in the presence of Hon’ble Governor Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla. I also appreciate Hon’ble MLA Shri @imosingh Ji for his active role in ensuring that this important tradition continues to be celebrated with such spirit.
May Heikru Hidongba continue to flourish for generations and strengthen the bonds of unity, peace and harmony in Manipur.

Your dedication, discipline and indomitable spirit have once again made Manipur and the entire nation proud. Keep shining and lifting the spirit of our state & India higher.

This is my 9th reminder to Online Legal India.
I have repeatedly requested the refund of the amount paid for the service, yet despite multiple follow-ups, the refund remains pending and I have received no definite timeline.
I request Online Legal India to confirm and process my refund.
Failing this, I will proceed with formal escalation through the appropriate grievance and consumer redressal channels.
Nine reminders for a refund is more than enough.
Deeply Alarming.
Manipur must continue this fight with renewed urgency to protect the forests, future generations and national security.

For years, we warned that drug trafficking in the Northeast was not a local problem but a national threat in the making.
I chose to confront powerful drug cartels and entrenched illicit networks in Manipur, despite the pressure and resistance that came with it. In a sensitive border State like ours, this was never just Manipur’s fight. It was a frontline battle to stop drugs at the gateway and protect the youth of the entire country from a menace that could spread far beyond our State.
Those who dismissed or ignored the warning then must now recognise the scale of the threat. The fight against drugs cannot be half-hearted, selective or convenient. It must be relentless and uncompromising.
Had a meaningful interaction with youths from diverse background at my residence today. Encouraged to hear their thoughts, aspirations and perspectives on the issues that matter to them.
I have always believed that listening to our youth is essential. Their dreams and ideas must find space in our collective efforts to build a peaceful, progressive and prosperous society.
People from Manipur will soon go to the hills and mountains of Nagaland to ask for fresh water, as Manipur has suffered a massive loss of forests due to deforestation caused by poppy cultivation.
On World Bamboo Day, let us recognise bamboo not only as a valuable natural resource but also as a source of livelihood, enterprise and sustainable development.
Manipur has rich bamboo resources and traditional knowledge associated with its use. By combining this heritage with modern technology, skill development and value addition, let’s unlock new opportunities for our farmers, artisans and youth.
