Spoke to the protesting Agriculture graduates of Jammu & Kashmir today.

What stayed with me was simple, they are not asking for any favour. They just want the opportunity they studied and worked for.

Years of waiting, vacant posts and shrinking recruitment opportunities cannot become the future of an entire generation.

I have assured them that their fight is our fight. I will raise their concerns at every appropriate forum and stand with them until their voice is heard.

@UdayBhanuIYC Sir, You have consistently spoken about the concerns of young people. We respectfully request you to raise our issue with the concerned authorities and give the unemployed Agriculture Graduates of J&K a voice at the appropriate forum. Our future cannot be left waiting indefinitely.
The Unemployed Agriculture Graduates of J&K have been peacefully protesting for their legitimate demand of recruitment opportunities in the Agriculture Department. 20 Years of uncertainty have pushed many qualified graduates to the brink of losing their age eligibility, while vacancies remain unaddressed. Despite repeated pleas, representations and peaceful protests, no one seems to be hearing our voice.
We are not asking for favours or creation of posts. We are demanding that existing vacant posts be referred and filled through a fair, transparent and timely recruitment process.
The recruitment rules have progressively reduced opportunities for fresh Agriculture graduates. Under SRO-179 of 1988, the AEO post had a 50:50 direct recruitment promotion ratio. SRO-433 reduced the direct recruitment share to 20%, leaving 80% for promotion.
Similarly, SRO-02 of 2004 provided 60% direct recruitment and 40% promotion for JAEO posts. SRO-442 of 23 October 2017 changed the JAEO recruitment method to 100% promotion, effectively removing the direct-entry route for fresh graduates. This change has also been recognised in judicial records concerning the 2017 rules.
Sir, this is not merely an employment issue, it is the future of an entire generation of qualified Agriculture graduates. We urge you, as the National President of the Indian Youth Congress, to raise our voice, take up the matter with the J&K Government, and demand a clear roadmap for recruitment.

There was a time when our students pursued education with the hope of building a future. Today, after earning their degrees, many are compelled to prepare not for employment, but for protests to demand the opportunities they deserve.
The agriculture graduates of Kashmir are raising legitimate concerns over recruitment policies, including SRO-442 of 2017 and direct recruitment to JAEO posts. A government that cannot provide its educated youth a fair path to employment must answer for this failure. Their future deserves justice, not neglect.
