The DG should first be asked to clearly define what the terms “terrorism” and “terrorist” mean. Only then can such labels be applied responsibly. Equating a former Prime Minister, the country’s most popular political leader, and his supporters with those who kill soldiers and civilians serves only to create confusion. One cannot blame governance when the elected are not even allowed to govern. They are not even allowed to be ‘elected’ in most cases. The entire press conference seemed less about addressing the real enemy and more about directing frustration at PTI — a party already subjected to unprecedented victimisation.
