A lawyer on TikTok is performing a weekly list of recently arrested pedophiles in America simply to point out that it’s all youth pastors and politicians, not drag queens
Hi! As we speak:
- the ceo of tiktok is being interrogated by congress with intent to ban TikTok in America
- anti lgbtqia legislation is being passed banning gender affirming health care & drag shows
- Jim Crow era laws are being reinstated in Mississippi
When TikTok CEO Shou Chew tells @HouseCommerce TikTok prides itself on “being a platform that helps companies—many of them small businesses—thrive.” He conveniently leaves out how the Chinese Communist Party has repeatedly stolen US small business IP.

TikTok's chief executive Shou Zi Chew faced tough questions from lawmakers who are convinced the Chinese-owned short video app should be banned for being a potential national security threat to the United States https://t.co/mc9ZIfuThf
The level of ineptness of our Congress is truly stunning, and terrifying. They don't possess even a basic understanding of laws, tech, business--anything.
If you think we’re being rude to TikTok, take a gander at what China does to our companies.
Openly stealing their intellectual property then shuts them down, only to see some relative of a local official open a replica company
They're blaming the TikTok CEO for body dissatisfaction, anxiety and depression, like our country doesn't give us a mass shooting every other day, economic uncertainty, elected officials taking us back to Jim Crow and trash-ass "food" on our shelves! The hypocrisy is INFURIATING!
I wrote about the odd sight of American lawmakers grilling TikTok's CEO on why he can't moderate content more like his Chinese counterparts -- and TikTok's CEO missing a chance to turn that question around on them. Live updates here: https://t.co/ikXMcHiZVg
TikTok users are frustrated by some of the Congress members’ social media knowledge. @RepBuddyCarter even revived the false understanding of the “NyQuil Chicken Challenge”
My FYP is filled with commentary on every moment of the hearing. It’s fascinating
If we ban TikTok, we’d be dismantling a massive piece of communications infrastructure used by young people, people of color, and LGBTQ+ people.
It would exacerbate existing inequalities in information access.

Watching the hearing on TikTok right now, and the amount of leading questions and interruption to the CEO trying to answer questions is so extremely unprofessional and irritating.
This is a hearing— let us ACTUALLY HEAR him.
So far in this hearing, Facebook has done everything Congress has accused TikTok of doing.
These are valid concerns and should be addressed! But Facebook has and is exploiting users, and sharing their data as well.
