@Leaveme1234869@princ_consuela The fact that Susannah was incapable of saying out loud to Conrad to take Jeremiah as example sometimes. Conrad was maybe better in physical stuff like sports (dixit JH/the books 😂), but Jeremiah was definitely better in the emotional department.
@starryneese@Leaveme1234869 There are a bunch of fic writers who have given him the best letters from his mom. JH will never do better (and as his letter was not in the books, neither on the show, I doubt we get it in the movie) 🥺
@Leaveme1234869 There's an ache in you put there by the ache in me
But if it's all the same to you
It's the same to me
So we could call it even
…
I won't ask you to wait if you don't ask me to stay
…
And the heart I know I'm breakin' is my own
“Jeremiah, though—he was my friend. He was nice to me.”
“Jeremiah came home around dinnertime. I was relieved to see him. He made everything lighter, easier. Just seeing his face took away some of the strain of being there.”
“Then I held out my hand for him, and his eyes lit up. The joy I felt in that moment—I couldn’t even put it into words. His hand shook as he placed the ring on my finger.”

I’m learning that the person who makes you feel calm is often worth more than the person who makes your heart race. I want a love that settles my nervous system instead of constantly activating it. Not love bombing, not confusion, not emotional whiplash. Just someone whose presence makes me feel grounded, safe, and at peace.
“Jeremiah stooped down low and said, ‘Hop on,girl.’ Giggling, I climbed on his back. I always giggled when he called me girl. He hoisted me up and I put my arms around his neck. Then I blew a raspberry on his neck, and he yelped like a little girl. I laughed the whole way there.”
