@dowehave2_tx@SimonWDC@KamalaHarris VP Harris was on every single primary ballot in 2024, and together with President Biden, won the D primary race overwhelmingly.
She won the unanimous support of the convention DELEGATES who were elected with those votes.
Maybe you had the lobotomy.
@1goodtern The truth is that he was wildly unpredictable last time - and will be even more so this time. The worst has yet to reveal itself.
Think Musk, Thiel & Putin promoting Vance to replace Trump via the 25th, and crashing fiat currency worldwide by forcing the US to default on debt.
@ProjectLincoln Long before he declared in 2015, I knew he routinely didn’t pay his contractors. That’s all I ever needed to know about whether he could be trusted.
@nayih99@emptywheel Dobbs will affect every single election until the protections of Roe are restored - in predominantly blue states where those majorities need to be protected and in red states, where voters have consistently shown they want legal abortion when given a chance to vote directly.
@nayih99@emptywheel Abortion “resonance” isn’t affected by proximity. My blue state passed state law to protect Roe in 1999, but I know voters here are hyper-attuned to Dobbs, and the downstream effects that imply other rights (gay/interracial marriage, contraception) will be confiscated.
@nayih99@emptywheel Before too long, men who love women/girls will understand the impact of abortion bans on their loved ones, as the consequences and risks of these draconian policies become obvious. Their lives will be ruined by unintended pregnancy and routine pregnancy complications, too.
@nayih99@emptywheel Will all contraception methods stay legal? Will they all be affordable? Will women need a doctor’s note to cross state lines? The resistance to Dobbs will increase over time, as the real life consequences reveal themselves: death, disability, poverty, and blighted lives.
@nayih99@emptywheel My 31 year old daughter just told me she doesn’t want to go through a pregnancy in a state without legal abortion. This is because she understands all that goes into reproductive healthcare. It won’t be safe without access to abortion. Fertility treatment won’t be safe, either.
@nayih99@emptywheel Disagree. Women understand clearly that R’s will enact a national abortion ban, potentially without meaningful exceptions, if given power to do so. The individual state laws are merely provisional, especially in light of Project 2025’s promise to pursue fetal personhood laws.
@imjdsharp Women understand R’s will ban abortion nationwide with no meaningful exceptions. They understand this because (1) R’s say so out loud and (2) Project 2025 advocates for fetal personhood. Abortion bans = Jane Crow. There is no freedom without the ability to control one’s body.
@MalcontentmentT I’m so very sorry for your loss and for the intense difficulty and pain that today will bring. I send hope that your way forward will reveal itself one gentle step at a time. ❤️
@hydromerchant@KinnaBeck@jjfitzgeraldMD Obviously it’s not murder. Get a grip. Or a brain. Or a dictionary.
Failure to provide medical care to women who are experiencing a pregnancy crisis isn’t murder, either.
Abortion is a word that means termination of a pregnancy. That’s it.
@AztecCrewElder @SapelJen @jjfitzgeraldMD You aren’t interested in thinking about abortion. You’re interested in parroting propaganda. How do I know? The first-hand accounts of women who have been denied medically necessary care since Dobbs are everywhere.
@hydromerchant@RachelAlva64097@jjfitzgeraldMD Historical fact. Women remember before Roe. They are not going back because it was barbaric. They will not let this happen again. https://t.co/k2v9qclbd5
@AztecCrewElder@LLou06 @SapelJen @jjfitzgeraldMD Ahhh. More ignorance. No fetus has ever survived outside the womb at 20 weeks’ development or less. The method of terminating the pregnancy then becomes the one that gives the pregnant woman the best chance of a healthy outcome. Leave this question to the doctors who know.
