🇳🇴 Norway is using its influence inside soccer to push for Israel’s suspension from FIFA, Politico reports.

Led by Norwegian Football Federation president Lise Klaveness, the campaign makes the case that FIFA’s ban on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine exposes a double standard as Israel continues its assault on Gaza.

The report says Norway’s support has helped move the campaign into Europe’s soccer mainstream and Klaveness, a former national team player and lawyer on UEFA’s executive committee, is pressing the case through formal institutions.

The Palestinian Football Association’s effort, launched in 2024, cites Israel’s atrocities in Gaza, discrimination against Arab athletes, and the inclusion of clubs based in illegal West Bank settlements.

When Norway hosted Israel in a World Cup qualifier last October, the federation donated all match proceeds to Gaza relief. Fans displayed Palestinian flags, keffiyehs, and a banner reading: “Let Children Live.”

"Still, Minab" is the single most heart-wrenching and yet life-affirming work I have ever done in my life. In this fieldwork ethnography of the Minab massacre, I conducted in-depth interviews with 35 people, including 8 families, volunteer workers in town, and local eyewitnesses.

The existing accounts of Minab in both English and Farsi language media, while valuable, remain incomplete.

This mini‑series was born from a responsibility to affirm the victims’ own voices: their lives, testimonies, and interpretations as undeniable sources of knowledge about this atrocity. It is also a commitment to them.

This commitment also makes this work freely available and accessible to all. You are welcome (and encouraged) to share and use it widely.

"Still, Minab" is a mini-series documenting the massacre committed by the US-Zionist death machine at Minab on the first day of the war. The series centers the families of Minab, in their fight for justice for their children and the renewal of life in the face of the death machine.

It has been such a tremendous honor to witness, and contribute in a small way, to the work that @Helyeh_Doutaghi and her team have put into this project. It is such a vital testimony to the stakes of this war and the broader struggle against imperialism and for a sovereign dignified life.

This is not a talented trader.
"We placed the bet." "The ceasefire dropped." "We cashed out." Sixteen times in a row.
That is not skill. That is not instinct. That is not research.
That is someone who knows what is coming before it comes.
Think about what that actually means. A private individual is placing a $51 million bet that oil prices are about to collapse — hours before a sitting president announces a ceasefire that collapses oil prices. Not once. Sixteen times. Zero losses.
There are only two explanations and both should terrify you.
Either someone inside the White House — or with direct access to it — is leaking ceasefire negotiations to traders before diplomats, before the press, before the American people hear a single word. That is insider trading. That is corruption. That is a federal crime.
Or the timing of the announcement itself is being shaped around the trade. Which is worse.
This is not a genius investor who reads the news faster than you do. The news hadn't happened yet. He wasn't reading the news. He was getting a phone call.
While Americans were watching the ceasefire announcement and feeling relieved — somebody already knew. Somebody had already bet $51 million on it. And somebody was already counting their winnings.
