location MATTERS in stories. the movie uses the trauma and stories of mexicans from mexico and then slams the door in those same people’s faces when they speak up about how hurtful it is to them.
if it could’ve been set anywhere… why wasn’t it? if everyone behind the scenes is french, why not set the movie in france? where the director can make a more authentic story.

Emilia Pérez won 2 Oscars and none of the recipients mentioned the Mexican people or the mothers searching for their missing children -the central theme of that “film”.
They are only profiting on the suffering of the victims and at the expense of an entire country.
A problem that they do not understand and are not even interested in understanding.
