I’m currently going through the process of obtaining my eligibility card so I can exercise my Second Amendment rights. Here’s what the first few steps have looked like:

1. $30 for a background check. TruDiligence is certainly capitalizing on this process.

2. $99 for a four-hour training class because I already have my hunter's safety card. Without it, I would have to take a 12-hour class spread over at least two days. I’ve seen some instructors charging as much as $500 for the required course.

3. My county sheriff is waiving the local processing fee, but many sheriffs’ offices are charging significant additional fees. Even with the waiver, I still have to pay $52 to Colorado Parks and Wildlife at my appointment.

Just three steps in, I’ve already spent $181, and that’s on the low end.

If you can’t afford these costs, can’t take time off work, or don’t have reliable childcare, the reality is that exercising your constitutional right to keep and bear arms becomes much more difficult.

If you’ve experienced delays, excessive costs, or other problems while trying to obtain your eligibility card, I encourage you to document your experience and report it. These issues can be important in supporting the ongoing legal challenge to SB25-003.

As far as I can tell, to make the idea work, one must pretend ratification did not hinge firmly upon documented promises and reassurances about the meaning of each component of the document.

To believe in Living Constitutionalism, one must believe all of the in-depth discussions, definitions, promises, and reassurances around "a government of few, enumerated powers," "general welfare"/taxing authority, "necessary and proper," and "commerce" meant precisely nothing AND everyone or at least a suitable majority of those granting consent were satisfied with that.

If we assume the original promises/reassurances were offered in good faith, then we have no choice but to recognize those as the outer limits of what FedGov was allowed to do, sealed in perpetuity unless and until altered via Article V Amendment.

If we assume the original promises/reassurances were meaningless, then the entire ratification was illegitimate because consent was granted based on bad faith promises and reassurances.

So, I would like to know: How do you square that circle to support the "living constitution" via redefinition and expansion of the original narrow definitions/promises/reassurances instead of recognizing the only valid method of altering Federal powers being the singular method listed within the Constitution itself?

OK, so I want to be completely real with all of y’all about why this new workshop means so much to me.

I grew up dirt-ass poor. Like, the kind of poor where you don’t know where your next meal is coming from. The kind where stability never really feels real, because everything can disappear just as quickly as it showed up.

When you grow up like that, it sticks with you. Even when things are going well, part of you is always waiting for the floor to fall out from underneath you.

I didn’t come from money. I didn’t inherit a business, a building, or a safety net. Quite the opposite actually. I had to grow up far too fast and learn how to provide for myself at a very early age.

Cultivated Laser started with whatever equipment we could afford (it was bad), a willingness to work our asses off, and the hope that maybe—if we kept grinding—we could build something real. And we did.

That is what this workshop represents to me.

It isn’t just more square footage. It isn’t just a place to put lasers and 3D printers. It is permanence. It is security. It is proof that where you start does not have to determine where you finish. Even more than all of that, it means that I broke the generational cycle of poverty for my family, and that my kids will never have to worry about where that next meal comes from.

It means having room to grow this business, bring new ideas to life, hire people, and build something that can take care of my family for years to come. Something no one handed to us. Something we fought for, one order at a time.

I’m not telling y’all this because I want sympathy. I’m telling you because so many of you have been here buying patches, magazines, and whatever other weird shit we decided to make next. You helped turn a little laser business into something I never could have imagined having when I was a kid. If 8 year old me would meet current me, 8 year old me would be fascinated and think I was the richest person on the planet, and that hits hard.

We aren’t across the finish line yet, but we are closer than we have ever been.

And if we pull this off, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully explain what it means to me.

But I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to make it worth it.

The Anoka County, Minnesota Sheriff Brad Wise signed a $174,999 contract to spend taxpayer dollars with Flock in order to put cameras up across the county that will track every citizen without their consent.

Why is the contract amount significant? Well, if it was $1 more it would require the County Board to vote on it.
