@JustRowena I agree. I differ from some in that I think, once the case came to trial, a conviction was appropriate based on the laws that we currently have. Laws need to be applied evenly, regardless of unpalatable outcomes. I am dubious of the CPS approving the decision to prosecute though
@HeidiBachram I’m so so sorry. And I’m sorry for the shocking antisemitism on display that means you can’t even speak about such cruelties without people sneering at you further. None of this is ok.
@CheekyClackers …if consequences fell more on one group than another eg women, those with disabilities etc. but I suspect not likely. Agree it’s wrong though.
@CheekyClackers Not a lawyer, but know my way around the equality act to a reasonable standard. Likely not illegal. Having a medical degree is not a protected characteristic- in order to be discriminatory something has to correspond to a PC. Perhaps could constitute indirect discrimination…
@JustRowena I was about to make a sarcastic reply about how Jewish people are of course renowned for never ever ever being persecuted, but given how spiky people are, I won’t risk an outrage QT, and I’ll simply say this dude is an idiot.

The comments in this case are atrocious:
“She had a history of ‘neglecting herself’”
“there were ‘signs’ that the girl had been putting herself into ‘sexually exploitable positions’, adding the girl has been ‘watching porn since the age of eight’.”
APPALLING victim blaming.
@22_Lex_kate Having gone through it myself, I would never think any less of someone who couldn’t/wouldn’t. It’s a brutal process, so corrosive. It should not be up to individuals to sue employers to get this stuff fixed. It’s appalling that it is.
@22_Lex_kate @Darren8319@Queenie_2312@LozzaFox Can very much confirm. Can also confirm how incredibly difficult it is to report harassment, how even if you do, your employer is likely to harm you further (I lost my career) and how difficult & arduous the tribunal process is.
