Just because someone lays something down doesn’t mean we have to pick it up. Responding to something mean with more meanness will only lead to conflict escalation, not resolution.
We don’t have to fall into the trap of saying ugly things back. We don’t have to betray who we are in a moment of feeling offended.
And because we don’t have to live with reaction regret, we can celebrate.
