I'm a police officer with 18yrs in. The attitude test is a real thing. You act like a knob when stopped and spoken with then I'm going to make things more difficult and issue you a fine or something.
THREAD: Sir Thomas Winsor has today published his final #StateOfPolicing report as he prepares to leave his role as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary at the end of March.
Here are some of the main points from his report.

1 - Decide to do the right thing
2 - Risk your own safety and no one else's
3 - Get a great result that makes society a better place, and no one (except a criminal) is harmed in any way
4 - Receive email from someone who has sat behind a desk for 10 years criticising my decision
14 year old child arrested today for throwing pyrotechnics at the opposing fans - in a League 1 game!
It's hooliganism masking itself as football. And it's not going to end any time soon without drastic action from the clubs themselves
I just cannot understand how some people are so infatuated with their football team that they are willing to get arrested, cause other people harm, and intimidate members of the public
It's just a game?
@CourtNewsUK I think prison would affect my mental wellbeing too.
How do I solve this problem? I don't racially abuse and assault people on public transport
We are seeing paedophiles, burglars, domestic abusers, dangerous drivers, and knife carriers avoiding prison
Someone posting nonsense on Facebook isn't right and there should be consequences, but it's not nearly on the same level as the above crimes

@LEGALBEAGLEOK It's a good job there's a national shortage of those 😂
Just kidding!
If you can get a suspect who is confident, stupid, and underestimates me, it works every time regardless of their legal rep's advice
@kjrushford@CPSUK@COPFS If you must know, on one shift, i attended a domestic violence incident in progress and arrested the offender
On the second, I arrested a child rapist and sat with him in custody to maintain forensic integrity. Then I investigated a stalking
I wish I could be as ignorant as you
Why are 'Cancelled Rest Days' called 'Cancelled Rest Days'?
It takes the assumption that the norm is you should be working, but they are allowing you a rest day as a courtesy.
You're not cancelling my rest day, you are requiring me to work for an additional day
I've just worked a 12 hour shift without resting/eating, slept for 6 hours, then straight back to work to do the same again
If I heard of anyone else being forced to do that, I'd be putting in a Modern Day Slavery referral
What's the point in sentencing someone to 2 years in prison for burglary, then letting them out on licence 3 months into it?
As a surprise to absolutely no one, they were caught committing crime 2 weeks later and taken back to prison
Looks like Mason Greenwood has been arrested.
Being good at a sport does not make domestic abuse acceptable
The average person would probably be charged and remanded in custody for court in the morning, based on this evidence. Let's see what happens...

This is a very interesting take on the Criminal Justice System
Should petitions posted on Facebook replace the need for a CPS and a well documented charging decision? It would certainly streamline the evidence gathering process!
