Belgium restored nuclear power output
Belgium’s two remaining nuclear reactors are back online, restoring 2GW of reliable power after months shut down.
Under Bart De Wever, the government has also scrapped the nuclear phase-out law and lifted the ban on new reactors. Concrete action to reverse the damage inflicted by energy-illiterate fools.
Germany threw away more than 20GW of nuclear capacity under Merkel, enough to supply roughly 30% of its electricity.
Not just IMHO, 8GW can still be recovered at minimum cost and in short order. Merz must halt dismantling and launch a serious programme to restore capacity - asap. Removed equipment can be replaced. Political paralysis is a choice.
That’s the difference between De Wever’s pragmatism and Merz’s catastrophic inability to correct past energy mistakes quickly and decisively, even with a highly capable Katherina Reiche as energy minister.
Well done, @Bart_DeWever and team.

@vatniksoup Hitler was "socialist" in the sence of horse shoe theory - extreme left and extreme right does some things identicaly for different reasons.
Macron says that today’s shooting in Trappes was aimed at migrants and the first terror attack in French history against a group of people targeted because of their skin and religion.
He is naturally lying as there have been several such Islamist attacks in France in recent years which were carried out against Jews or Christians.
- 2012, Mohammed Merah attacks a Jewish school in Toulouse and murders a rabbi and 3 kids
- 2015, Amedy Coulibaly murders 4 Jews at the Hypercacher kosher supermarket in Paris
- 2016, Adel Kermiche and Abdel Malik Petitjean storm a church in Normandy and murder the 85-year-old priest Jacques Hamel, by slitting his throat, and also critically wound an 86-year-old man.
2020, Brahim Aouissaoui storms a Catholic basilica in Nice and stabs 3 people to death.
Macron stated today:
“What happened today is a turning point. It is the first time there has been a terrorist act planned to kill our compatriots, our children, because of the color of their skin or their religion”
Marine Le Pen won't stop French decline: she is a clueless right-wing Mitterrand.
Marine Le Pen has just explained that one of her principal concerns is the departure of talented French engineers and entrepreneurs to American AI companies.
And what is her solution to winning the global artificial intelligence race?
She proposes exempting people under 30 from income tax, up to four times the French minimum wage, alongside corporate tax exemptions for young entrepreneurs.
This is absolutely MAD.
The United States is investing hundreds of billions of dollars in AI infrastructure, data centres, computing capacity and research. American technology companies attract the world's best engineers with extraordinary salaries, stock options, access to capital and unparalleled technological resources.
And Marine Le Pen wants to compete with them by exempting EVERYONE under 30 from taxes!
What does the income tax paid by a 25-year-old hairdresser, waiter or kebab-shop owner have to do with France's competitiveness in artificial intelligence?
Absolutely nothing.
Rather than concentrating scarce financial resources on strategic sectors, technological infrastructure and productive investment, she wants to distribute tax privileges to an entire age category, regardless of economic contribution.
This is communist redistribution through the tax system disguised as industrial policy.
And the worst part is what could happen politically.
France is already burdened by enormous public expenditure, persistent deficits and a staggering debt. Such indiscriminate tax exemptions would further constrain its finances unless accompanied by credible spending cuts or compensating revenues.
If Le Pen comes to power with this economic philosophy, she risks aggravating the very problems she promises to solve.
And this time, she will bear responsibility.
Imagine the consequences: economic stagnation, disappointed expectations, fiscal difficulties and growing anger among the native French electorate that brought her to power in the hope of national recovery.
The resulting disillusionment could provoke further social unrest, destabilise her government and eventually open the door to the return of the left.
What a magnificent historical irony.
Marine Le Pen could become a right-wing François Mitterrand: promising national renewal through fiscal redistribution, presiding over another economic disappointment, and ultimately preparing the conditions for her opponents' return to power.
France does not need another Mitterrand. Not even one who calls herself a nationalist.
We've reached the mayhem stage for France. It's 10-year yield is exploding higher as is Italy's. Everyone else is getting safe haven inflows, notably the US and Germany. We've reached the stage where France's crisis is idiosyncratic and self-perpetuating.

@MarcoPolo_Px None of the above. US renewed proper Starshield operations, meaning US is ok with this. RU did not play their part, so back to bombing refineries - with US support or at least apathy towards the issue.
US asked UA to play ball, UA said "What do I get?" US said "What you are already getting", UA argued thats not enough. Thats why US halted/trimmed down some of their support. To remind UA, just how important it is and how bad things would be without US. There was still full shut down of Starshield and halting of PURL that remained "unused" on US side, so message could have been a lot stronger than it was.
🇺🇦🇺🇸 Zelensky says Ukraine asked the U.S. for Patriot missiles and got its comms throttled instead.
"When I don't attack them, because you asked me not to attack them, they will attack me.
It's fair if you give me something with which to defend myself. That's the minimum I'm asking for.
And when I'm asking this, your answer is blocking Starlink."
Elon said that call doesn't sit with SpaceX at all. The military version of Starlink is called Starshield, and it's owned and controlled by the U.S. government, so any limits on speed or usage are decided by the U.S. military and ultimately Trump.
So the same man asking Ukraine to go easy on Russia is the one pushing the buttons that keep their comms going. Huh…

I think this combined with resumed strikes on RU refineries means that RU failed to play their part. If we won't see lashout from Trump, this will confirm it. It is as close as US administration will come to admitting mistake.
❗️Ukraine’s Defense Ministry says Starshield is working normally again while in motion, with military units confirming connectivity has been restored. The ministry is still investigating what caused the October 14 restrictions and remains in contact with the US, SpaceX and NATO partners to establish what happened. #Ukraine

With an absurd 15 EuroLeague/EuroCup/BCL games packed into a 5-hour window last night, some interesting events went entirely under the radar.
Lietkabelis stunned PAOK 95-86, and Cedi Osman's scratches tell only part of a wild story in Panevezys (1/5)
US is not trying to bring peace here. They wanted UA to play ball in dealing with high oil product prices. UA asked what do they get in return and US said they already get enough. UA refused to agree to stop refinery hits, so now they are being punished. Funny thing is UA did stop now, but since they did not officially agreed with US request (at least not until "punishment" came through), now it doesn't matter.
USA asked UA to stop bombing refineries six times or so. Until Hormuz, US did no care, but after Iran f up things changed. Once UA finally responded, they asked what do they get in return. Answer - continued support of US. UA did not agree, so now US is withdrawing support, somewhat.
Interesting how withdrawal of SOME of US support to UA caused so much trouble. I was reliably told US no longer provides any support to UA ever since Trump got elected. Partial withdrawal of this non-existent support sure seems to hurt a lot for something that never existed.
