29 years NYPD , Commanding Officer, NYPD Office of Professional Development, former Command Sergeant Major 42nd Infantry Division , CUNY John Jay Alum,
On #ArmedForcesDay today, we recognize & thank all our military who serve — including the more than 4,000 NYPD members who perform double-duty & wear both uniforms.
All protect us not just abroad, but right here at home — helping NYC on the front lines in the war against #COVID.
Congrats to Detective Brian O’Donnell on his well-deserved retirement! In 2016, while off-duty, he tackled a criminal armed with a meat cleaver who was being chased by fellow officers. Brian was severely injured after the perpetrator struck him in the face.
A true HERO Detective!
Watch as the @EmeraldNYPD@NYPDPipesDrums band wishes taisteal sábháilte (safe travels in Gaelic) to the crew of the @USNSComfort who came to @nycgov to help us in our time of need. Thank you for your support during this challenging time.
#COVID__19
Friday, April 24, 2020 we honor the Line of Duty Sacrifice of Police Officer Robert A. Sorrentino. His heroism & service is remembered today on the 40th Anniversary. Robert A. Sorrentino’s memory will always be honored & revered. Thank you for your service & sacrifice. #SIP
NYPD Sergeants are now distributing 80,000 pieces of hand sanitizer and bleach to all NYPD commands. We thank all those who worked with us to protect NYPD cops-Home Depot, Staples and many more friends of the SBA. Stay safe and God Bless all our emergency personnel & the USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸
@SethAbramson Hospital capacity is real test. Having virus is different then needing hospitalization. We need to know where we stand on that metric. Because then we will know how overwhelming this crisis. Models and future projections are just that. What is current NYC hospital percent?
@smerconish Mike I am losing faith in there assessments. The thoughts of medical capacity seems to be the main issue. Because as cases are identified with more testing, I don’t see the amount of people in dire medical conditions increasing.
It was a great membership meeting. Thanks for everyone who came. For the ones that didn’t show up, we hope to see you next time. Special thanks to our guest speakers from Combined Life Insurance. Thanks for your well informed knowledges.
Last week, officers from the @NYPD24Pct responded to a call of a man who wanted to harm himself. When they arrived, he was holding a knife and then attempted to jump out of the 10th floor window. Miraculously, the officers were able to grab his ankles, and pulled him to safety.
