@Lionheartex@auspost After the phone customer service team stepped in, and even then they wanted to waste more of my time by waiting for a manager to come in the next day. Spending a day in hell would be better than having to go back to that outlet again.
Once again @auspost Noble Park reaches new lows with demanding I pay $30 to pick up a parcel due to underpaid postage. But sender has an auspost business account so they would claim through that. Thieves!
@Lionheartex@auspost Oh, I refused to pay. I know the process even if none of their staff members do! That post office is a blight on @auspost reputation, the service (hah!) is always abysmal. After holding my parcel hostage for 60 minutes they finally let me receive my goods…
Wish @Uber_Support would explain how the driver was at the pickup location when they were nowhere near me and didn’t follow instructions to the actual pickup location. Charged a $10 cancellation fee after the driver started going in the opposite direction. 😡
so @Qantas any chance you can make sure @AmericanAir honor baggage allowances? Just had AA try and charge me $196 USD for my third bag when my allowance should have been four pieces. Poor way to start the trip back home.
@YouAreLobbyLud I’d say more than that. It meant we missed unvaxxed exposure to the Delta strain. That in turn, was due to repeated elimination of seed events in Victoria. History will look back on this as a great achievement by the people of that state.
In the latest lowering of standards by AusPost, my address no longer exists as the postie couldn’t be f..d delivering it. They have my mobile number. Instead of directing it to a post office, they’ve returned it to sender. Why @auspost? Why are you so damn incompetent?
🇬🇧UK: "Parents will be told to stop the COVID-era practice of keeping children off school with sore throats and runny noses as part of a government push to tackle soaring absenteeism." 🤦♂️

It must be the reduced policing / bad pandemic habits and not the reduced brain functionality from Covid… #CovidIsntOver what else is trending up? https://t.co/OoZD3F0Nke
Once upon a time, there was a science called epidemiology. It had a friend called public health. They teamed up to usher in an unprecedented era of improving health outcomes and lengthening lifespans.
Then humanity said "Ah fuck it. We can't be bothered with this."
The End
Okay, let’s talk about “learning loss”. (H/t @McKinsey)
US high school test scores (ACT) are out - they’ve fallen steeply for the 4th year in a row. Now at their lowest level in 30yrs.
Let’s look at the data & the media narrative and weigh potential explanations, shall we? (1/)
New @SlackHQ UI is mind-boggingly awful. Even worse only one of my workspaces has been “blessed” with it so far. Who finds this faster to use? How on earth did this make it past QA?
16/ 3524 Australians have died of covid so far in 2023. That's 25 a day on average.
@AlboMP you've brought in restrictions on buying paracetamol because 50 people a year die from overdosing, and 230 end up in hospital.
But you won't push masking to save 175 lives a week.
Just a reminder that if COVID-19 was 'just like the flu' and the people dying were 'gonna die anyway' there wouldn't be a WORLDWIDE, unprecedented in modern times, DROP in LIFE EXPECTANCY.
“As infections surged when schools reopened, precise data was suppressed from public scrutiny. Vic ed minister responded to reports of >100 school outbreaks in a day, not as if it were a calamity but as if all was going to plan”
