Today, we observe the External Solemnity of Corpus Christi with processions and public adoration. Have you ever walked in one of these beautiful Eucharistic processions? 💬

An Australian archbishop urges the value of Eucharistic adoration and a renewed appreciation of kneeling in worship(!), and @amywelborn2 quite reasonably wonders what this might portend for the future of where we are headed with our liturgy.
When you consider the history of liturgical formation over the past fifty years, and the confident assurances from Liturgical Professionals that this was well behind us...this is pretty remarkable. It's a lengthy explanation of the purpose and history of kneeling in Western Catholicism, and an encouragement to embrace it.
It also raises the question of how to understand "unity" when one bishop can write a document like this, and another can preach a message and enforce policies that not only discourage kneeling but declare it a posture contrary to authentic devotion.
Today is the Feast of Corpus Christi, a solemn celebration of Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist.
Let us renew our love and awe for this great mystery of our faith.

For those looking to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi in the traditional Roman Rite (or indeed, at all) today, @StAlphonsusFSSP in Baltimore will have a High Mass tonight at 7pm. Worth the trip!
It will also be streamed on their YT page:

@lukei4655@christian_state@Lorenzo92SS Seen that in past pilgrimages at Chartres, so the priests are surely aware that this is an option, and willing to make use of it. Why they did not do it on this occasion is unclear. Maybe there wasn't time?
Reverend Canon Jean-Baptiste Commins was in his church parking lot Monday evening when he heard tires squeal and a loud crash.

Please pray for the soul of Michael. He was an absolutely dear old man from my parish who led the rosary before Mass for years. He gave me so many little prayer books and holy cards. I will truly miss him. May his beautiful soul rest in peace. 🙏😭❤️🔥
@christian_state@lukei4655@Lorenzo92SS Yes, that was our suspicion, given that in years past at the Pilgrimage, these Masses usually had servers for all of the priests (most commonly, scouts).
