@LoFiGrievous @AttilaTheLund@yishan But inertia is a function of mass, it doesn’t decrease with speed. I can see the EMALS could have better control to reduce dynamic structural loads of have different force/time profile, but it also would carry increased complexity to get right.
@romanhelmetguy If you can’t tell if a close friendship is only meant to be platonic, ask them to wingman you. If it’s truly platonic, they’ll happily help. If there’s friction, either there are feelings, or it was taking advantage of benefits otherwise restricted to romance.
@danielgothits Irony is AC is the most efficient way to cool *and heat. Works all year round, can be easily offset by solar, more environmental friendly than traditional electric heaters, gas and wood heaters. Literally moves 4x more thermal energy than the energy it consumes. Insane
@dannolan Funny thing about the dead internet theory is that assumed that bots were kinda independent to human interactions. Didn’t expect that humans would just prefer using bots to interact for them.
@OsherFeldman Wait so Chalmers is saying these changes reduce tax for the average investment but the Treasury Secretary says it’s to increase revenue? Can’t sell the cake and eat it too.
@TheRealDavey2 I think this is their logic: ASX shares on average have performed less than 2x inflation, so the new rules would be less tax for ASX200 vs 50% cgt discount. In reality, it means a narrow ~3-7% is encouraged and higher returns are penalised, aka help the government’s bottom line.
@MarkDiStef The point remains. Riskier investments tend towards gambling, which interestingly skews to younger folks. A ~50% upside tax on one vs 0% on the other makes gambling comparatively more attractive (even if specific odds are worse). Incentives drive outcomes, that’s the real point.
@NickADobos I might use 60M tokens per month and can see potential for 1B with unlimited usage. I don’t have 24/7 processes, lots of projects not started etc, but *every* time I think I’ve got a process automated and aren’t in the loop the result turns to slop. 10,000x more idk man..
@taipan168@Topo_1975 Mate if society treats families as just a lifestyle choice things go south in a few generations. Governments should be invested in families because it returns over decades as a growing society and tax base. Everyone benefits. What subsidies would you remove first?
@cageeone@AaronDodd Yeah on face value boomers lose but young generations will see a leveraged impact, basically killing compounding for anyone wanting to invest in the future.
BREAKING: Our responsible approach in today’s Budget means we’ve improved the bottom line by $45b.
Labor’s responsible economic management means that debt is lower, deficits are smaller and the Budget bottom line is stronger in every year.
We’re getting the Budget in better nick because that helps to fund the things that Australians need and deserve like Medicare, aged care and cost-of-living relief.
@DaveTaylorNews I feel the issue is less individuals but incentive structures. It means less risk on Australian assets and enterprises, turns the place into a tax hazard.
