This action by the US government to subpoena reporters for reporting legitimate news on security concerns about Air Force 1 should alarm every American.
“The appearance of federal law enforcement agents on the doorstep of news reporters should shock the conscience of any American who believes in the Constitution and the press freedom it protects,” said David McCraw, The Times’s top newsroom lawyer, in a statement on Friday evening.
Let me tell you what just got reported, because you will not believe it until you see it laid out.
The Trump administration cut a billion-dollar tungsten deal with Kazakhstan. Tungsten is the metal we need for missile warheads, fighter jets, and computer chips. Trump himself got on the phone to close it. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick worked it from the inside, sending letters, leaning on the Kazakh president, lining up as much as $1.6 billion in federal financing.
Within weeks of those negotiations, investors tied to a firm partly owned by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump took a 20% stake in an entity connected to the very same Kazakhstan project their father was negotiating. Around that same time, Cantor Fitzgerald, the firm run by Lutnick’s own sons, raised $210 million for a partner in the deal and pocketed the fees.
The fathers set the policy. The sons cashed in.
Six days after the Trump sons and their partners moved their money, Lutnick signed the final deal.
The reporting found one or both families have financial ties to at least 14 companies working with the government on critical mining deals.
The total federal funding flowing toward those companies tops $8.9 billion.
This is your tax money.
It is supposed to secure our supply chains and protect our troops, not pad the portfolios of the President’s children and the Commerce Secretary’s children.
This is the most corrupt administration in American history. It is not close.
We must keep digging, and keep asking the questions they do not want asked. Republicans in Congress are unwilling to lift a finger. Mike Johnson is running a protection racket.
Either we will end the corruption, or the corruption will be the end of us.

Trump’s kids buy into drone companies
Trump cancels existing drone contracts
Trump’s kids’ companies get military contracts
Trump starts wars
Trump’s kids’ try to sell their drones to the countries being attacked because of Trump’s wars
👉🏻 This is what corruption looks like.
What if the experts are right? What if positive thinking really is delusional? Researchers have found that the people who convinced themselves something was possible, even when it didn’t look likely, were often the ones who made it happen. Why? Because belief drives behavior. When you believe it’s possible you don’t give up. You push through adversity. You look for solutions instead of focusing on obstacles. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Most people aren’t held back by reality as much as they’re held back by doubt. So the real question is this: What could you accomplish if you chose to “delude” yourself into believing it was possible?
BAD teams never talk.
AVERAGE teams talk when they're winning.
GOOD teams talk often.
GREAT teams never stop talking.
CHAMPIONSHIP teams always talk about talking more...in huddles, at halftime, in time outs.

I don’t care if Alysa Liu is woke. I don’t care if the Tkachuk brothers are MAGA. It’s the Olympics. Celebrating incredible American athletes is a joy and a privilege. If you can’t find a way to do that as an American, it’s your loss.
Trump, July 19: "All three nuclear sites in Iran were completely destroyed and/or OBLITERATED. It would take years to bring them back into service."
Witkoff, Sunday: "They're probably a week away from having industrial-grade bomb-making material."
Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley: "The last 2 weeks we as a law enforcement community have been receiving endless complaints about civil rights violations in our streets from US citizens. What we're hearing is they're being stopped in traffic stops or on the street with no cause and being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they are here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints as they fell victim to this while off duty. Every one of these individuals is a person of color ... it has to stop"
This is the best thing I've read about leadership recently.
Causing me to re-evaluate some things that I've done / not done for a long time.
Strongly recommend.

Elon Musk – the richest guy in the world – is allowed to pour zillions of dollars into Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
Does that sound like democracy to you?
We need to overturn Citizens United and move to the public funding of elections.
Detroit just hosted the largest NFL Draft in history, the Tigers are back in the playoffs, the Lions are headed to the Super Bowl, crime is down and our population is growing. Lots of cities should be like Detroit. And we did it all without Trump’s help.
PARENTS: When you blame other things (officials, coaches, conditions, circumstances, teammates) for the situation your son or daughter is in, then you're essentially teaching your child how to be an excuse maker. Set the standard. Be the standard.
Please listen to this. This is something I strongly agree with and so does Elon Musk apparently.
The solution to the problem of problematic algorithmic messaging is a decentralized database, as well as the ability for users to write their own algorithms around that data.
Social media backends need to be on a low cost high-output blockchain. That data should be able to be used by any front end that decides to tap into and out of that blockchain. A good example of a project that’s doing this is called Deso. (Decentralized social). @desoprotocol
I highly recommend that Elon Musk looks into this protocol. Even if he doesn’t want to integrate X with deso he can learn quite a bit about highly scalable, social block chains and what and why they are likely the future.
Dear Christian,
One of the biggest things that destroys your credibility is when you take an unflinchingly ridged stance towards the “sins” of your fellow citizens but then claim the “system is rigged” when your preferred presidential candidate is held accountable for his sins.
