@MartinSLewis Pers accounts that we are paid into. But jt acct for all spending. Monthly budget that splits all of our money across all of our financial commitments and savings. Jt savings+investments for specifics things (house, Christmas, holiday) same amount ind savings per person
@JohnPeg83296785@ShepherdWales Try reading this and having some objectivity. Many schools actually reduce fees for forces children down to the rate of CEA plus 10%. Also plenty of non-offocers send their children, but officers have longer careers and often have most movement

@Heinousalmond6@OneKneeSteve@MilitaryBanter Except it isn’t near his posting so he has to weekly commute, which him and his wife don’t want, or have to downsize home selling their possessions. He had considered commissioning but his children won’t be able to stay at Xmas so he leaves to live in his own house instead.
Almost no-one will see an improvement in their offer.
Even if you do, it’s a communist policy where mil housing is an extension of the welfare state. It’s a pay reduction for one to increase the pay of another.
Concentrate on the real injustice: overall standard (incl SLA) 🧵
@TheSenkari@ShimphingWO@combat_boot That was only on the trial. Everyone will pay for SLA but you can claim back an allowance up to £125 if you maintain a separate property.
The Army officer exodus is about to get much worse. Woke new housing rules set by a weak Ministry of Defence undermine the attractiveness of service life. https://t.co/PXP0b4rHH5
A shake-up in military accommodation could prompt hundreds of UK officers to quit because the size of the house they qualify for will shrink "significantly", defence sources have warned.

@Special_KL@EdOBrien A levelling down of the policy yes. But if you’re in the group of people losing out in a significant way then you’re also allowed to not be happy and to complain about it, and if it is right, make the decision that the organisation no longer values you as it once did.
