Exciting times are ahead for NPs interested in EMS. Read the new position statement released this week by AAENP. I'm thankful to have co-authored this document with three amazing individuals (@JacobMillerACNP, Warren Shaulis, and Sarah Somers). #EMSNP@AAENP2
Politeness is not the same as kindness.
Being polite is saying what makes people feel good today. Being kind is doing what helps people get better tomorrow.
In polite cultures, people withhold disagreement and criticism. In kind cultures, people speak their minds respectfully.
Can we give hospital executives a Vocera device so they can participate in the misery of nonsense and constant distractions? They should be banned for nurses.
One of the reasons I “stay and play.” Can be extrapolated to peri-arrest situations where you get pressure to “get out of here. https://t.co/xq3k48DTKw

@PulmCCNP@NP_Travis @MenInNursing Agreed. I encourage new NPs to get out, taste the world, and see how things are elsewhere. Staying in the same unit/comfort zone contributes little to professional growth & often more headaches.
@ohTHATnurse The bed is only good for 1 thing...people over 150kg. Like others, I’d gladly manually prone any day. A good critical care team can have it complete in 20 mins.
@YagerDaBlueDane @SpaceForceMD @laertezz Hey @YagerDaBlueDane does UC have any prelim data like this as a regional ECMO center? And BTW your UC ECMO team and Dr Suzanne Bennett rock! Fantastic experiences! I’ll keep referring early!

Doctors in training *need* training. This is not the same as giving teaching. They need personalised feedback &advice/strategies to improve.
Surveys suggest they’re not getting this from workplace-based assessments, which are often poorly completed/too generic
