@virginmedia@virgin_sup86060 Thank you very much for finally sorting this out for us. New pod with a power supply arrived today and is working. Moral of story use X support i/o VM service messenger
@virgin_sup86060 I received a Virgin Media black WiFi pod (see picture of back) with no power supply, so it can't work. Two long exchanges with VM WhatsApp have resulted in one hub power supply (which is too big) and one broadband cable being sent. Can I please have a power cable
Morning! Feels like a good time to remind you to dig out your retro sporting shirts (MW accepted) to join us back at the club from 5 - or after your game on Saturday - for some Euro 2024 kick-off fun.
BBQ is go and you can have a jar at the bar while you wait for the VAR…
A good news story from a city more people should visit. It’s a wonderful place that always surprises those who have never been.

@johnharris1969 I’d like this person to speak to my colleague about her experience of having to fight every step of the way to get her son with special needs the education he deserves - she would put him right in seconds. Sadly, there must be plenty of parents less able to keep battling.
@bluemoonjules@rickygervais Yes. Sadly my sister who had Down’s syndrome developed early onset dementia in her 50s and died recently aged nearly 58. Always cruel, but somehow worse when she had overcome many barriers to live a fulfilling life
@parkrunUK Run directing today so tested out my new waterproof over trousers good and proper. 220 odd still turned up to splash/slide their way round @kingstonparkrun and the soggy volunteer bibs now spinning in the washing machine
@BevJacksonAuth Er chap? 55 year old straight woman - fully supportive of campaign for biological female only categories in competitive sport - just want community inclusive events to remain so. Rapidly realising trying to have a discussion on here is pointless
@mara_yamauchi@kingstonparkrun I love what Parkrun is - an opportunity for anyone to show up and complete 5k together on a Saturday morning - it’s not about records or first places - it’s about community and that is more important than the few cheats or very competitive runners
@mara_yamauchi@kingstonparkrun The only ways to ensure ‘fairness’ would be some kind of ‘sex verification’ on registration which would kill Parkrun - free 5k, turn up and run (once you’ve proved who you say you are - don’t think so) or get rid of categories which means no first female
@mara_yamauchi@kingstonparkrun I was echoing previous posts from you and making subjective assumptions about fairness and advantage. Can you not see that you risk damaging what is a universally good, but imperfect thing for the sake of a personal crusade? Take on the small number of cheats not Parkrun
@mara_yamauchi@FemaleRunner@parkrunUK The only practical way you could ensure absolute fairness is to get rid of all categories and records - it is impossible to enforce anything else. If that what you want?
@FemaleRunner@mara_yamauchi@parkrunUK So how do you propose ‘enforcing fairness’ at Parkrun? I am a grassroots runner too and a Parkrun volunteer - I compete against myself and others, male, female, others who are similar standard to me. Don’t give a stuff about course records or who is first - that is not what PR is
@FemaleRunner@mara_yamauchi@parkrunUK You do realise that the only practical way to ‘ensure fairness’ at Parkrun would be to get rid of all categories and how would that help women? Go fight the genuine battles in elite sport and leave community initiatives to be inclusive in peace.
