This is the only story that matters when it comes to Pakistan. 👇
For nearly 3 years former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in a death cell, and from what the reports suggest, has gone blind in one eye due to torture at the hands of the current brutal military dictatorship in Pakistan. And for last 6 months especially he has been in total isolation facing psychological torture with no meetings with family.
This is how terrorists are treated in prison cells the way former Prime Minister, a Cricketing Hero, and someone who built cancer hospitals for the poorest in the country is being treated.
At the moment there is no proof of his life and has become a missing person by an illegitimate military regime. This unpopular regime is only able to maintain its grip on power through foreign endorsement and backing from Western liberal democracies, Arab Monarchies, and the US that find a compliant military dictator in Pakistan to be more useful than a stable and sovereign democracy.
The ultimate price of a dictatorship is paid by the 240 million people in the country.
Free Imran Khan!
Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
Excerpt from Mohammed Hanif’s letter to Junaid Hafeez:
‘Those who made blasphemy the central plank of their politics, and threatened generals and judges and politicians, have been silenced for now. We sometimes fear that your acquittal might poke those monsters we have put to sleep. Or people who decide such things still suspect that these monsters might be unshackled to liven up our political circus.’

This didn’t break you. It won’t break us!”
From his own jail cell after his unjust and illegal incarceration which has now spanned 1,000 days, Barrister Hassaan Niazi’s message for Imran Khan.
#1000DaysOfResiliance#ReleaseHassanKhan
Unfortunately spent last night in a hospital. My son didn't make it. There will be a funeral. Luckily my girl is out of the danger but could have lost a life too. This is not easy.
Eid Mubarak to all.
In my previous Eid messages, I pointed out the despicable act of denying Imran Khan his basic right to perform Eid prayers. I noted then that the British Empire used the exact same psychological warfare to try and break the unbreakable will of the 'Prisoner of Malta', Maulana Mahmoodul Hasan.
Today, history repeats itself in its ugliest form. Imran Khan, Prisoner #804, was once again barred from offering his Eid prayers. To understand the mindset of those who rule us today, we must look at history. The current regime in Pakistan has proven to be the proud, 'Brown Sahib' successor to the most brutal dictators and colonial masters of the past. Tyrants have always feared the spiritual unity of Muslims on Eid. Let me narrate three profound historical incidents from South America, the Soviet Union, and Africa that mirror the fascistic tactics we see in Pakistan today:
1. Brazil (1835). The Price of Shackling 'Bilal' Pacífico Licutan:
During the transatlantic slave trade, Salvador da Bahia held a vibrant, underground community of African Muslim scholars and teachers known as the Malês.
Among them was 'Bilal' Pacífico Licutan—a revered Muslim scholar, elder, and spiritual guide enslaved by colonial masters. Right before Ramadan in 1835, authorities arrested Bilal Licutan and threw him into a dark dungeon in solitary confinement.
When the Muslim community realized their spiritual leader would be denied the right to lead or even perform the congregational Eid prayer, their grief turned into a righteous fury. They transformed their resentment into a historic movement for justice. Wearing traditional white tunics (abadás), carrying prayers written secretly in Arabic, and chanting praises to Allah, they launched the famous Malê Uprising. Their primary, explicitly stated strategic goal on the night of the revolt? To march directly onto the prison, smash the gates, and break Bilal out of his cell so he could lead them in prayer.
Predictably, the colonial masters labeled this quest for religious freedom a "rebellion." Many were massacred on the streets; others were captured, tried, and executed.
2. The Soviet Union 1920s. Criminalizing 'Uraza-Bayram' (Eids):
In the 1920s, the totalitarian Soviet state launched a vicious, highly coordinated state-media campaign targeting the two Eids (Kurban-Bayram and Uraza-Bayram). Much like the controlled media narratives of today, propaganda brochures titled "Against Uraza" were published to justify brutal crackdowns on anyone who dared to celebrate Eid or perform Eid prayers. Prominent Muslim Central Asian scholars, Crimean Tatars, and Caucasian leaders were sent to the remote Gulag labor camps as political dissidents, their isolation was absolute. The establishment treated congregational Eid prayers as an act of high treason and political subversion.
Yet, tyranny could not conquer faith. Memoirs from Gulag survivors reveal that despite the threat of immediate execution or torture in solitary confinement (SHIZO), Muslim political prisoners conducted silent, whispered fasts throughout Ramadan. On the morning of Eid, when guards forced them into labor and forbade them from turning toward Mecca, the prisoners rose up in stubborn, collective agitation—defying the regime to their ultimate peril.
3. Africa (1850s). Weaponizing the Faith Against Emir Abdelkader:
During the French occupation of North Africa, the colonial establishment in Algeria and Morocco viewed the massive gatherings of Eid prayers as breeding grounds for nationalist resistance. To neutralize this, prominent anti-colonial leaders, religious scholars, and Sufi shaikhs were routinely thrown into military fortresses or placed under strict house arrest just days before Eid.
When the great freedom fighter Emir Abdelkader was imprisoned and barred from leading Eid prayers, the French colonialists—in all their cruelty—still allowed him one basic right: the ability to write letters to international figures. Emir Abdelkader used his pen to agitate against the state, exposing the hypocrisy of European powers who claimed to uphold "civilizing values" while chaining religious freedom.
Shamefully, even the basic right granted by 19th-century French colonizers—the right to write letters and communicate freely with the world—is being denied to Imran Khan by the rulers of Pakistan today.
The Verdict of History
Every dictator, every slave owner, and every colonial oppressor in these stories believed they could break the human spirit by denying a leader his connection to his Creator on Eid. History forgot the names of those prison wardens, those Soviet commissars, and those colonial judges. But history immortalized Maulana Mahmoodul Hasan, Bilal Licutan, and Emir Abdelkader and Imran Khan.
The 'Brown Sahib' fascist usurpers currently ruling Pakistan should read the pages of history carefully. You can lock a leader in a cell, you can deny him his Eid prayer, but you can never chain the collective will of a nation yearning for true freedom (Haqeeqi Azadi). As Faiz rightly laments:
چشم نم جان شوریدہ کافی نہیں
تہمت عشق پوشیدہ کافی نہیں
آج بازار میں پا بہ جولاں چلو
رخت دل باندھ لو دل فگارو چلو
پھر ہمیں قتل ہو آئیں یارو چلو

🇵🇰 The man Khan fired is now running Pakistan's nukes.
Think about that for a second. Munir was sacked by Khan in 2019 after just eight months as ISI chief. Eight months. Khan threw him out after he went to Tehran with the Pakistani delegation and blew up the room, went completely off the script the government had agreed on internally, used language with Iranian officials that had no business being used, and actively wrecked what could have been a genuine step toward better Pakistan-Iran ties. Iran complained directly to Khan. Khan fired him.
That same man now controls 170 nuclear warheads with zero institutional checks left standing.
What happened between getting fired and getting the keys is the part that should make every Pakistani furious. After the sacking, Munir allegedly flew to London and sat down with Nawaz Sharif, who was conveniently living in self imposed exile at the time. Khan called it the London Plan. The deal as Khan described it was straightforward, Munir gets army chief, Khan's government gets taken apart, his party gets destroyed, the judiciary plays along. Sounds insane until you watch it happen exactly like that, step by step, over the next three years.
Munir became army chief in November 2022 in a process multiple reports said involved heavy consultations with the same Nawaz Sharif sitting in London. Within months Khan was arrested. Shariar waltzed back into Pakistan in October 2023 and had most of his convictions vacated almost overnight. By February 2024 his brother was prime minister, the elections were rigged openly and Washington and Brussels said nothing.
Then Munir really got to work. He promoted himself to Field Marshal, invented a brand new title of Chief of Defence Forces, and passed the 27th Constitutional Amendment scrapping the Nuclear Command Authority that had existed since 2000. That authority existed for one reason, to make sure no single person could ever make a nuclear decision alone. It required the prime minister, the joint chiefs, the service chiefs, all in the room. All of that is now gone. Munir replaced it with the National Strategic Command, headed by himself, answerable to nobody above him. The prime minister's only remaining role is to appoint people Munir recommends.
Pakistan has 170 nuclear warheads. Every single one of them now answers to one man.
Khan, the man who saw all of this coming and tried to stop it, has been rotting in a cell for nearly 3 years. And Munir gets called "my favorite Field Marshal" by Trump.

All my life, I wondered how the Holocaust could have happened. I understood that Hitler & other leaders were EVIL, but how did millions of ordinary people go along with it?
NOW, seeing how so many in the West rationalise & defend the Gaza Genocide, I think I have my answer and it is profoundly disturbing
"For years, Pakistanis were instructed to disbelieve their own eyes. Imran Khan’s removal, they were told, was ordinary parliamentary procedure. The military was “neutral.” Washington was innocent. The generals were constitutional saints. The cypher was a prop, a fantasy, a wounded populist’s fever dream.
Then Drop Site News released the cypher in full."

You may not treat Polish citizens who have committed no crime in this way.
In the democratic world we do not abuse and gloat over people in custody.
We demand justice for our citizens and consequences for you.
Difference btw IK/Bajwa/Faiz assault on democracy & Asim/SS/AZ assault is that this is far more insidious & long lasting
Former used danda but lacked a grasp of institutional/societal politics. Latter use danda & systematically dismantle & co-opt all institutions & civil society
The question that no one is asking is from the person who was Junaid Hafeez’s lawyer for years and made him give statement on PPC 342 which has proved highly dangerous and made it difficult for any judge to pardon him. Legally, it is not possible for Junaid Hafeez to get a pardon. The only way out of the state decides to rescue him. Until then, he will remain incarcerated with both judges and lawyers having a party at his behest
